I genuinely don't know if Ukraine is spending their offensive power on defense operations or if they're still planning an offensive.

I believe in 3 possibilities.

1. Ukraine used their offensive power for defensive operations/counter attacks (pokrovsk, 2nd line of defense in zaporizhzhia/dnipropetrovsk)

2. Ukraine is keeping them in reserve for a new offensive (similar to kursk)

3. Ukraine is keeping them in reserve for a Russian offensive.

It doesnt have to be either or but a combination of multiple is likely, it is worth noting that Deepstatemap complained about offensive units used for defensive operations before.

And in the end, when Ukraine launched their kursk offensive last year the Russians captured positions in Donetsk at 2-3 times the speed prior to the offensive.

Apparently its not confirmed, it depends on how the information was presented to the MOD, well generally in this section of the frontline it tends to be accurate unlike Kupyansk.

If Russia had a birth rate of 3-4 since 1990 (it dropped to 1.2 or so) today they'd have 200+ million people of which 120m would be in working age compared to 85m today and 45m children (0-14) compared to 20m today.

Russia's #1 issue is population

Similarly if Ukraine had 3-4 birthrate between 1990 to today they'd have about 70 million people today instead of the prewar 44 million

There is a whole debate about what causes countries to have kids or not.

Its simple. We need cultural emphasis on the importance of having kids, there needs to be larger cheaper houses/apartments close to jobs those 2 alone can make a significant difference

I think it was probably the short term gains of the privatisation racket Reagan did. Once the short term benefit of selling Americas soul to the devil was spent. It obviously stopped working

Honestly this is probably the reason, countries going for short term benefits and ignoring long-term consequences
