Blessed Hāliġmōnaþ ( Halegmonath) to all.

With a lot of discussions around the nature of the Gods and depths of metaphysics, the Cosmos, and theology, it is good to ground oneself to a common understanding.

The Gods are good.
We praise them and give offerings.
They guide and grant us boons.

Hail the Æsir and Vanir!

Hail Freyja!
May you guide us towards the love of our folk and the beauty of the mystical world around us.

Hail Þórr!
Shining example of strength and bravery, may you inspire in us even a fraction of your power.

Hail Alföðr Oðinn!
Watching over all from Hlidskjalf, may we find favor in your eyes.
Hail!

Have a wonderful and blessed day, folks!

An interesting zierscheibe from Crailsheim, Baden-Würrtemburg, and an Anglo Saxon mount from the Museum of Wales similarly featured a figure with crossed legs surrounded by serpents; this could indicate a shaman in a meditative stance, journeying to the underworld, indicated by the snakes; even Woden Himself. ᚩ

This bear’s tooth amulet from the Orkneys bears an inscription reading only “fuþork”. The mere mention of the sacred runes seem to have been enough to imbue it with apotropaic properties.

The importance of the Runes themselves were considered sacred even when not in a formula, spelling out a full prayer or statement, or in a Bindrune.

Horn with runes, Erga, Klepp, 750 - 1050, Bog find. The inscription is the first part of the runic alphabet.

ᚠᚢÞᛆᚱᚴᛡ

The runes are carved into an ox horn. The eddic poem Lay of Sigrdrifa states that beer-runes should be written on horns. Such horns are used as drinking horns in feasts where beer was consumed.
The feast consolidated the community amongst the warriors as well as their roles.
