Horn with runes, Erga, Klepp, 750 - 1050, Bog find. The inscription is the first part of the runic alphabet.
ᚠᚢÞᛆᚱᚴᛡ
The runes are carved into an ox horn. The eddic poem Lay of Sigrdrifa states that beer-runes should be written on horns. Such horns are used as drinking horns in feasts where beer was consumed.
The feast consolidated the community amongst the warriors as well as their roles.

I'm really excited to finally announce something I've been hinting at for several months now...
A new album-project called Garde which I had the great honour and joy of composing/performing vocals for. Here's a song and the full promo text:
Ultimate bombastic and epic true viking metal. This weapon of great power was no less than twenty-five years in the making. A highly epic work was forged with resilient warrior-fury with great attention for small details culminating in a certain triumphant ending.
Writing and recording originally started in 2000 but never finished until now - 25 years later. Started as a side-project of A. / Cultus but the project was forgotten until the flame was reignited after inviting Dan / Wolcensmen for lead vocals who did a monumental work writing and recording the vocal melodies. Using the original 2002 recordings, nothing was changed to the song structures and riffs - yet many moons of restoring, mixing and adding parts followed and the result is immortalized in album in which we take immense pride.
This is Viking Berserkr Metal for fans of Scald, Mayhemic Truth, Norden, Countess and obviously Bathory.
