Drawing with grains
Since some of you had been asking me to show you how to draw with sand, I have something for you tomorrow. A lot of us are in our homes now, so we'll have to make-do with what we have. You can do this with salt, coffee, tea or whatever you have.

So, DM me on Instagram (Instagram.com/wintaassefa1) if you're interested. See you there.

I didn't want to give this a read at first. I've had enough of the beer virus news. I feel like I get all the updates I need to hear through my sister.

But it's like Rob pulled out some of these words out of my mouth in this article of his. It lists thoughts about our future that I didn't know what to do with and, other things that never crossed my mind.

The piece is quite dark and may give you a few 'I knew it' moments in the months to come.
But if you've had enough for the day, you may want to leave this one for another time.

Lady/gentleman, you're invited to be childish with me later today (2:30 local time).

I'll be making a mess on the table, with something I'm yet to determine. It could be tea, sand or salt. I hope you have some of that too. I'll show you what I know about how to draw with sand-and the other grains I use.

See you over on Instagram?

a book

It's been almost 10 years since dad bought me this book. And with every reread, the stories hit me differently over the years.

But now, this story is what mostly comes to mind.
So I wanted to share it here.

Thank God for language, and words. Until I meet her someday, this is what I have left of Maya Angelou.

architecture

After five years of being on board of this maddening course, I think it's research and 'architectural writing' that I'm most drawn to.

So, from now on, you'll see a series of collaborations with @ETCONp, featuring architects and architecture graduates who're now quite far away from the traditional definition of architects.

Let me know through this poll whether architecture remotely interests you or not.

And may you have a lovely day.

5 Architecture-y Instagram Channels I Wish I Knew As A Freshman

Instagram changed a lot between when I first opened my account in 2012 and my moving to Ethiopia and later joining architecture school.

A lot of accounts had sprang up since, which I never had any idea about throughout my time in campus.
Here are a few which I'm lucky to have bumped into or discovered through friends. I wish I had bumped into some of them in my earlier college years though.

1. Nendo

Nendo's creator went to an architecture school in Japan. But his firm had taken the concept design and ran off with it in so many different directions.
It's not rare for architects to get into interior or fashion design. But this firm has taken on those things and more, with a focus on creating designs that are incredibly efficient. They're satisfying just to look at, and luckily for Nendo, there's a whole niche for that on social media.

I don't know if this channel's founder creates any of the content on his channel. But he curates it so well, there doesn't seem to be any shortage of work to be inspired or intimidated by.
