The park's main attraction is more than 3,000 narrow, vertically elongated quartzite sandstone mountain columns. They rise hundreds of meters high, wrapped in mist and greenery, like giants from another era. Some look as if they have been torn from the ground and are about to float up into the clouds.
This landscape was the inspiration for parts of the planet Pandora from James Cameron's Avatar. One of the spires in the park has even been renamed Avatar Hallelujah.
