††† ✝እንኳን ለመጥምቀ መለኮት ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ ዓመታዊ የልደት በዓል በሰላም አደረሳችሁ✝ †††

††† ✝ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅ✝ †††

=>ቅዱስ ወንጌል ላይ ከእመቤታችን ቀጥሎ የነዘካርያስን ቤተሰብ ያህል ክብሩ የተገለጠለት ፍጡር ይኖራል ብሎ መናገሩ ይከብዳል:: ቅዱስ ሉቃስ ወንጌሉን የጀመረው በዚህ ቅዱስ ቤተሰብ ነውና መንፈስ ቅዱስ እንዲህ ሲል አጽፎታል:: "ዘካርያስ ካህኑና ቅድስት ኤልሳቤጥ በሰውና በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ያለ ነቀፋ የሚኖሩ ጻድቃን ነበሩ" ይላቸዋል:: (ሉቃ. 1:6)

+የሰውን እንተወውና በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ያለ ነቀፋ መኖር ምን ይረቅ? ለዚህ አንክሮ (አድናቆት) ይገባል!
እሊህ ቅዱሳን ባልና ሚስት ግን መካኖች በመሆናቸው ልጅ ሳይወልዱ ዘመናቸው አልፎ ነበር:: እንደ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ትውፊት ዕድሜአቸው የኤልሳቤጥ 90 የዘካርያስ 100 ደግሞ ደርሶ ነበር:: ፍጹም መታገሳቸውን የተመለከተ ጌታ ግን በስተ እርጅናቸው ከሰው ሁሉ በላይ የሆነ: ትንቢት ለብቻው የተነገረለት (ኢሳ. 40:3, ሚል. 3:1) ታላቅ ነቢይን ይሰጣቸው ዘንድ መልአከ ብሥራት ቅዱስ ገብርኤልን ላከላቸው::

+ቅዱስ ዘካርያስ ሰው ነውና ከደስታ ብዛት በመከራከሩ ድዳ ሆነ:: ቅድስቲቷ ግን መስከረም 26 ቀን ታላቁን ሰው ጸንሳ ለ6 ወራት ራሷን ሠወረች:: በ6ኛው ወር የፍጥረት ሁሉ ጌታ በተጸነሰ ጊዜ የአርያም ንግሥት ድንግል እመቤታችን ደጋ ደጋውን ወደ ኤልሳቤጥ መጣች:: ሁለቱ ቅዱሳት የእህትማማች ልጆች ናቸው::

+የአምላክ እናቱ ስትደርስና "ሰላም" ስትላቸው መንፈስ ቅዱስ በእናትና ልጅ ወርዶ ኤልሳቤጥ በምስጋና: ዮሐንስ ደግሞ ገና በማሕጸን ሳለ በደስታ ዘለለ (ሰገደ):: ከዚህ በሁዋላ በዚህች ቀን (ሰኔ 30) ተወልዶ: አባቱ ዘካርያስ "ዮሐንስ" ሲለው አንደበቱ ተፈትቶለታል::

+ስለ እውነት አንገቱን የተቆረጠ ታላቅ ሰው ነው::

+ስለዚሕም ቤተ ክርስቲያን ነቢይ: ሐዋርያ: ሰማዕት: ጻድቅ: ገዳማዊ: መጥምቀ መለኮት: ጸያሔ ፍኖት: ቃለ ዐዋዲ ብላ ታከብረዋለች::

+" አባ ጌራን ሕንዳዊ "+

=>ዳግመኛ በዚህች ቀን ሕንድ ካፈራቻቸው ታላላቅ ቅዱሳን አንዱ የሆኑት ጻድቁ አባ ጌራን ይታሰባሉ:: የእኒህ ቅዱስ ታሪክ አሳዛኝ ነው:: ቅዱሱ በሕንድ ተወልደው: በሥርዓተ ቤተ ክርስቲያን አድገው: ገና በወጣትነታቸው መንነው: ደሴት ውስጥ ወደሚገኝ አንድ በርሃ ገብተዋል:: ከገድላቸው ጽናት: ከቅድስናቸውም ብዛት የተነሳ በሃገረ ሕንድ ሰይጣን እንዳይገባ: ጠብ ክርክር እንዲጠፋ: ሰው ሁሉ በፍቅርና በሰላም እንዲኖር ማድረግ ችለው በጣም ተወዳጅ ነበሩ::

+በዚህ የተበሳጨ ሰይጣን ግን ባልጠረጠሩት መንገድ መጣባቸው:: አንዲት ሴት ወደ እርሳቸው መጥታ (የንጉሡ ልጅ ነኝ በሚል) አስጠግተዋት ነበር:: አንድ ሌሊት ላይ ግን አውሬ ያባረራት በመምሰል ሩጣ ወደ ቤታቸው ገብታ አቀፈቻቸው:: በዚያ ቅጽበት ፍጡር ደካማ ነውና ታላቁ አባ ጌራን ተሰነካከሉ:: ከአፍታ በሁዋላ የሆነውን ሲያውቁ ደም አለቀሱ::

+ልብሳቸውን ቀደው: እንባቸው እንደ ዥረት እየፈሰሰ አለቀሱ:: ራሳቸውን በትልቅ ድንጋይ እየቀጠቀጡት የጭንቅላታቸውና የደረታቸው አጥንቶች ተሰባበሩ:: እርሱ እግዚአብሔር መሐሪ ነውና ይቅር ብሎ: የቅድስና ስም ሰጥቶ በዚሕች ቀን ወደ ገነት አሳርጉዋቸዋል:: ለዚህ ነው መጽሐፉ "ጻድቅ 7 ጊዜ ይወድቃልና: ይነሣማል" ያለው:: (ምሳ. 24:16)

=>አምላካችን ከቅዱሱ ቤተሰብና ከጻድቁ አባ ጌራን በረከት ይክፈለን::

✞✞✞On this day we commemorate the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist✞✞✞

✞✞✞In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen!✞✞✞

✞✞✞Saint John the Baptist✞✞✞

=>It is difficult to say that in the Gospel there is someone whose honor was mentioned as much as the family of Zacharias, except our Lady. St. Luke started his Gospel with this family and the Holy Spirit inspired him to write the following. “And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.”(Luke 1.6)

✞Let’s leave ‘before mankind’, but how transcendent is it to live blameless before God? And to this, awe is appropriate!

✞These holy husband and wife, because they were barren, most of their days/ages were spent without bearing a child. And according to the Tradition of the Church, the age of Elisabeth was 90 and Zacharias had reached 100. However, the Lord who saw their great patience, sent the angel of annunciation, St. Gabriel, to give them [annunciate the birth of] a great prophet, who was greater than men and about whom a prophecy was told (Isaiah 40.3/ Malachi 3.1).

✞St. Zacharias, because he was a human and argued [with the announcing angel] from joy, was made dumb. Nonetheless, Saint Elisabeth conceived the great man on Meskerem 26 (October 6) and concealed herself for 6 months. And on the sixth month, when the Lord of all creation was conceived (assumed flesh [human nature]), the Queen of Heaven, our Lady the Virgin Mary, came to Elisabeth through the hill country. The two Saints were daughters of sisters (cousins).

✞And when the Theotokos (Mother of God) reached and saluted them, the Holy Spirit descended upon the mother and child; hence Elisabeth praised and John while in the womb leaped (prostrated) with joy. Then, he was born on this day Sene 30 (July 7) and Zacharias, his father, was able to speak as he named him “John.” 

=>St. John the Baptist was a great man who
✞was the son of the Saints Zacharias and Elisabeth
✞was filled by the Holy Spirit while in the womb
✞grew up in the desert and was adorned in holiness
✞baptized Israel for repentance
✞paved the way for our Lord
✞baptized his Lord
✞and who was beheaded for truth.

✞Hence, the Church honors him in calling him a prophet, an apostle, a martyr, a righteous, a hermit/an ascetic, the Baptist (Metmeqe Melekot), a forerunner and a herald (The voice that crieth).

✞✞✞Abba Geran the Indian✞✞✞
=>Again on this day, one of the great saints that India bore, the Righteous Abba Geran (Géran), is commemorated. The story of this Saint is heartbreaking. The Saint after being born in India, grew up per the rites of the Church, became an ascetic in his youth, and entered a desert found in an island. From the severity of his strife and the abundance of his holiness, he stopped Satan from entering into India, was able to remove brawls and quarrels, and aided all the people to live in love and peace. Hence, he was much loved.

✞Nonetheless, Satan came to him in a manner the Saint did not expect. One day a woman came to him (saying that she was the daughter of the King) and lived near his abode [in a cave the Saint provided her]. One night likening to someone being chased by beasts she entered his cell and embraced him. At that moment, because he was a weak mortal, the Great Abba Geran transgressed. A bit later, after he knew what had transpired, he wept bitterly.

✞He tore his clothes and while his tears flowed like a river, he lamented. Striking himself with a large rock, the bones of his skull, the sternum and his ribs broke. And on this day as God is merciful, He forgave him, and after giving him a holy name, took his soul up. Hence, Scripture said, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again”. (Prov. 24:16)

✞✞✞ May our God grant us from the blessings of the holy family and the Righteous Abba Geran.

🌿ብፁዕ አባ አቡነ ተክለ ሃይማኖት ዘኤለ ገዳማተ እምኀበ እግዚኡ ይነሣእ እሴተ ቦአ ሀገረ ደብረ ሊባኖስ በፍሥሐ ወበሰላም።

⚜ሰአል ለነ ጊዮርጊስ ኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወጸሊ በእንቲአነ ሐረድዎ ወገመድዎ ወዘረዉ ሥጋሁ ከመ ሐመድ ወወሰድዎ ኀበ ሰብአ ነገሥት ረገጸ ምድረ አንሥአ ሙታነ አባ ጊዮርጊስ በሰላም ዐደወ መንግሥተ ክብር ወረሰ።

🌿ወልደ እግዚአብሔር አምላክነ ወመድኃኒነ ዕቀብ  ሕይወተነ እም ገሀነመ እሳት ወእምኵሉ መንሱት በእንተ ቅዱስ ስምከ ወበእንተ ማርያም እምከ ወበእንተ ቅዱስ መስቀል ወበእንተ ዮሐንስ ወንጌላዊ ወበእንተ ዮሐንስ መጥምቅከ ወበእንተ ኵሎሙ ቅዱሳን ወሀባ ሰላመ ለሀገሪትነ ኢትዮጵያ ወለቅድስት ቤተክርስቲያን።

⚜ሰላም ለክሙ ጻድቃን ወሰማዕት እለ አዕረፍክሙ በዛቲ ዕለት መዋዕያነ ዓለም አንትሙ በብዙኅ ትዕግሥት። ሰአሉ ቅድመ ፈጣሪ በኩሉ ሰዓት እንበለ ንስሐ ኪያነ ኢይንሣእ ሞት።

🌿አንቅሐኒ በጽባሕ ክሥተኒ ዕዝንየ በዘአጸምእ አምላኪየ አምላኪየ እገይሥ ኀቤከ ዘይሰማዕ ግበር ሊተ ምሕረተከ በጽባሕ"

⚜ነቢያት ወሐዋርያት፥ ጻድቃን ወሰማዕት፤ ደናግል ወመነኮሳት፥ አዕሩግ ወሕጻናት፤ ገዳማውያን ወሊቃውንት፤ ሰአሉ ለነ ኲልክሙ፥ ቅድመ መንበሩ ለጸባኦት።

🌿እግዝእትየ ፍትሕኒ እማዕሠሩ ለሰይጣን፤
እሙ ለመድኅን ወለተ ብርሃን።

††† ✝ቅዱስ አግናጥዮስ ሐዋርያዊ ሊቅ ✝†††

††† ሐዋርያዊ ጳጳስና ሰማዕት ቅዱስ አግናጥዮስ ገና በልጅነቱ ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስን ያየ : ራሱ ጌታችን ትንቢት የተናገረለት (ማቴ.18:1) እና ከጌታ ዕርገት በኋላ ሐዋርያትን የተከተለ አባት ነው:: ጌታ ሲያርግ የአምስት ዓመት ሕፃን ሲሆን ከሰላሳ ስድስት ዓመታት በላይ ሐዋርያትንና ቤተ ክርስቲያንን አገልግሏል::

ዕድሜው ወደ አርባዎቹ ሲደርስ (ኢየሩሳሌም በጠፋችበት ዓመት - በ70 ዓ/ም) እርሱ የአንጾኪያ ሊቀ ጳጳሳት ሆኖ ተሹሟል:: አስቀድሞ ከወንጌላዊ ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ እግር ምሥጢርና ፍቅርን ጠጥቷልና የተለየ ሰው ነበር:: ቅዱስ አግናጥዮስ ከአንጾኪያ እየተነሳ ምድረ እስያንም በወንጌል ዕርፈ መስቀል አርሷል::

በአካል ያልደረሰባቸውን በጦማር (በክታብ) አስተምሯል:: በአካሉ እንኳ ምንም በጾም በጸሎትና በብዙ ድካም የተቀጠቀጠ ቢሆን ግርማው የሚያስፈራ ነበር:: ከነገር ሁሉ በኋላ የወቅቱ ቄሣር ጠራብሎስ ይዞ አሰቃይቶ ለአንበሳ አስበልቶታል:: በዚህ ምክንያት "ምጥው ለአንበሳ-ለአንበሳ የተሰጠ" እየተባለ ይጠራል::

††† ✝አባ ብዮክ እና አባ ብንያሚን✝ †††

††† እነዚህ ቅዱሳን የሥጋ ወንድማማቾች ናቸው:: ካህን አባታቸው በሚገባ ቢያሳድጋቸው እነሱም ገና በወጣትነት የሚደነቅ የክህነት አገልግሎትን ሰጥተዋል:: ሙሉ ሌሊት ለጸሎት : ሲነጋ ለኪዳን : በሠርክ ደግሞ ለቅዳሴ ይፋጠኑ ነበር:: ሁሌም በየቤቱ እየዞሩ የደከመውን ሲያበረቱ : የታመመውን ሲፈውሱ : ያዘነውን ሲያጽናኑ ውለው ትንሽ ቂጣ ለራት ይመገባሉ::

ሰውነታቸው በፍቅር ሽቱ የታሸ ነበርና ብዙዎችን መለወጥ ቻሉ:: አንዴ ቅዳሴ ሊገቡ ሲሉ "አባታችሁ ሊሞት ነው" ቢሏቸው "ሰማያዊው አባት ይቀድማል" ብለው ቀድሰዋል:: አባታቸውንም ቀብረውታል:: በመጨረሻ ግን አንድ ቀን ለመስዋዕት ብለው ያዘጋጁትን የበረከት ሕብስት እባብ በልቶባቸው አገኙ:: እንደ ምንም ፈልገው እባቡን ገደሉት::

ነገር ግን ያ የተባረከ ሕብስት በሆዱ ውስጥ ነበርና ምን ያድርጉት? ጌታን ስለ ማክበር ሊበሉት ፈልገው ጌታን ቢጠይቁት መልአኩ መጥቶ "ሰማዕትነት ሆኖ ይቆጠርላቹሃል" አላቸው:: ሁለቱ ወንድማማቾች ብዮክና ብንያሚን ፈጣሪያቸውን አመስግነው በሉት:: ምዕመናን ወደ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ሲገቡ ሁለቱንም እንደተቃቀፉ ዐርፈው አገኟቸው:: መልካም እረኞቻቸው ናቸውና ከታላቅ ለቅሶ ጋር ቀብረዋቸዋል::

††† ✝ቅድስት ቅፍሮንያ ሰማዕት ወጻድቅት✝ †††

††† ይህቺ ቅድስት እናታችን ደግሞ ገና በአሥራ ሁለት ዓመቷ ታላቅ እህቷን ተከትላ ገዳም ትገባለች:: በሚገርም ተጋድሎ በጥቂት ጊዜ አጋንንትን አሳፍራ መነኮሳይያትንም አስገርማቸዋለች:: ትጋቷ ግሩም ነበርና ስትታዘዝ : ስትጸልይና ስትሰግድ ያለ እንቅልፍና ምግብ ቀናት ያልፉ ነበር:: በዚህ የተቆጣ ሰይጣን አረማዊ መኮንንን ይዞባት መጣ::

ሌሎች ደናግል ሲያመልጡ እርሷ ለመከራ ተዘጋጅታ ጠበቀችው:: አዕምሮ የጎደለው መኮንኑም ክርስቶስን ካልካድሽ ብሎ ጽኑዕ ጽኑዕ መከራን አመጣባት:: በተጋድሎ ባለቀ አካሏ ሁሉንም ቻለች:: በዚህች ቀን ግን አንገቷን በሰይፍ አስቆርጧታል::

ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የወዳጆቹን ትዕግስትና ጽናት ለእኛም ያድለን:: ከበረከታቸውም ይክፈለን::

††† ✝ቅዱስ ቶማስ ✝†††

ዳግመኛ በዚህ ቀን ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ቶማስ ይታሰባል::
ይኸውም ከሕንድ አውራጃዎች በአንዱ ወንጌልን ሰብኮ እኩሎቹ ሲያምኑ እኩሎቹ እንቢ አሉ:: ቅዱስ ቶማስም ያመኑትን "ከጣዖት አምልኮና ከዝሙት ሽሹ" ብሎ መከራቸው::

ምክሩን ከሰሙት አንዱ በዚያው ምሽት ሊጠጣ ወደ መሸታ ቤት ይገባል:: ሰው ሁሉ ከወጣ በኋላ ባለ መሸተኛዋ ሴት እንደለመደችው አብረው እንዲተኙ ስትጠይቀው "እንዴት ሐዋርያው ከዝሙት ሽሹ እያለ እንዲህ ትይኛለሽ?" በሚል ሰይፍ አውጥቶ አንገቷን ቆረጣት::

እርሱ መልካም ያደረገ መስሎታል:: የሠራው ሥራ (መግደሉ) ግን አሕዛባዊ ግብር ነው:: በማግስቱ ቅዱስ ቶማስ ነገሩን ሰምቶ ሰዎችን ሰበሰበና "ይህንን የአውሬ ድርጊት የፈጸመ ማነው?" ሲል ጠየቀ:: ፈጻሚው ግን አልታወቅም በሚል ዝም አለ:: ወዲያው ቅዱሱ ሐዋርያ ዳቦ አንስቶ ቆረሰና "ለበረከት እያነሳችሁ ውሰዱ" አለ:: ሰውየው ተራውን ጠብቆ ሊያነሳ ሲል እጁ ሰለለች::

ሐዋርያው "ምነው ልጄ! ምን ሆንክ?" አለው:: እሱም እንዳላመለጠ ሲያውቅ እውነቱን ተናዘዘ:: ቅዱስ ቶማስ ግን ሕዝቡ ሁሉ እንደተሰበሰበ ያን ወጣት ገስጾ "አስከሬኑን አምጡልኝ" አለ::

የወጣቱን እጅ ፈውሶ "በል የገደልኩሽ እኔ:: የሚያስነሳሽ ግን ጌታየ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ነው:: ብለህ አንገቷን ቀጥለው" አለው:: እንዳለው ቢያደርግ የሞተችው አፈፍ ብላ ተነሳች:: ይህንን ተአምር ያዩ አሕዛብ አምነው ተጠምቀዋል::

#Feasts of #Hamle_1

✞✞✞On this day we begin the Month of Hamle and commemorate Saint Ignatius of Antioch (Theophorous), Abba Bioukha, Abba Benjamin (Banayen/Tayaban), Saint Febronia (Cephronia/Phebronia), and Saint Thomas the Apostle✞✞✞

✞✞✞In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen!✞✞✞

✞✞✞We say God is Good because He is wholly Good in His nature. And to examine this one can taste His goodness and it is essential to do so. (Ps. 33 (34):8) Thence, He helped us reach the Month of Hamle bearing our sins. And for this, His mercy, He is deserving of adoration, praise, and prostration. We should also beseech Him to enable us to reach the Month of Nehasse.

✞✞✞Saint Ignatius the Apostolic Scholar✞✞✞
=>St. Ignatius was a father who was an Apostolic Bishop and Martyr that saw Christ when he was just a child and for whom our Lord Himself foretold a prophecy (Matt. 18:1). And after the Ascension of the Lord, he followed the Apostles. When the Lord ascended, the Saint was a five years old child, and served the Apostles and the Church for more than thirty six years.

✞When he was close to his forties (in the year Jerusalem was destroyed – 70 A.D), he was appointed as the Archbishop of Antioch. And because he learned under St. John the Evangelist mysteries and drank love prior to that, he was a unique man. St. Ignatius going forth from Antioch has cultivated the land of Asia (Asia Minor) by the Gospel.

✞And he has taught the areas he could not reach through letters. And though his body was withered by many labors and from prayer and fasting, he had a majesty about him. And in the end, after much ministering, the Caesar of the time, Trajan, had him devoured by lions after he had him caught and tortured. And for this reason he is called, “Metew LeAnbesa – the one given to lions”.

✞✞✞Abba Bioukha and Abba Benjamin (Banayen/ Tayaban)✞✞✞
=>These Saints were brothers. And because their priest father raised them properly, they gave an outstanding priestly service in their youth. They hastened to pray during the night, for the matins in the morning, and for the Divine Liturgy later in the day. They always went to the homes of believers and used to strengthen the weary, heal the sick, console the grief stricken during the day and would only eat a small flat bread for dinner.

✞And because their body was fragrant of love, they were able to change many. On one day, when they were told, “Your father is about to depart” they replied, “The heavenly Father precedes” and went on to celebrate the liturgy. Thereafter, they buried their father. On another day, they found the host they had prepared for the Eucharist consumed by a serpent. Then, they looked for the snake and killed it.

✞However, because that blessed bread was inside it, they did not know what to do. Because they wanted to consume it in honor of Christ, they asked the Lord. And an angel came and said to them, “It will be counted for you as martyrdom.” Hence, the two brothers, Bioukha and Benjamin, thanked their God and ate the snake. When the faithful entered the church, they found the two departed while embracing one another. And because they were good shepherds, they buried them in great lamentation.

✞✞✞Saint Febronia (Cephronia/Phebronia) Martyr and Righteous✞✞✞
=>This, our holy mother, entered a monastery at the age of just twelve following her elder sister. And in an amazing strife, in a short time, she humiliated the demons and astonished the nuns. As her diligence was great, while she obeyed orders, prayed and made prostrations days used to pass by without sleep and food. And Satan who was angered by this brought a heathen official to her.

✞While the other virgins escaped, she awaited him prepared for affliction. And the mindless officer placed her under harsh tortures so she would recant Christ. However, she endured all with her body that had withered from strife. And on this day, he had her beheaded with a sword.

✞May our Lord Jesus Christ grant us the patience and perseverance of His beloved. And may He grant us from their blessings.

✞✞✞Saint Thomas the Apostle✞✞✞
=>Also on this day, St. Thomas the Apostle is commemorated.

✞After St. Thomas preached the Gospel in one of the provinces of India, half of the gathered believed and half did not. And St. Thomas counselled those who believed saying, “Flee from fornication and do not worship idols.”

✞And one of those who had heard the Apostle entered into a tavern the same night. And after all the people had left, when the hostess asked him to lay with her as usual, he said, “How could you say this to me after the Apostle stated, ‘Flee from fornication’?” Thereafter, he took out a sword and beheaded her.

✞And he thought that he did well. However, what he actually did (murder) was an act of unbelievers. And the next day, when the Apostle heard the news, he gathered the people and asked, “Who did this beastly act?” Still, the transgressor kept quiet thinking that he would not be identified. Then, straightaway the Holy Apostle took bread, broke it and said to the faithful, “Take as a blessing.” And when it was the man’s turn and he tried to pick, his hand was incapacitated.

✞Then, the Apostle inquired, “My son, what has happened to you?” And when the man knew he did not escape, he spoke the truth. And St. Thomas, while all the people were gathered, rebuked him and said, “Bring me the body.” Then, he healed the man’s hand, instructed and told him to say, “’I am the one who killed you but it is my Lord Jesus Christ Who will raise you.’ And then attach her severed head [to her body].”

✞Hence, when the man did as instructed, the dead woman rose speedily. And the gentiles who saw this miracle believed and were baptized.

✞✞✞ May God grant us from the blessing of the Apostle.
