†††✝በስመ አብ ወወልድ ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ አሐዱ አምላክ አሜን! ✝†††

††† ✝ቅዱስ መርቄሎስ ሐዋርያ ✝†††

††† ቅዱሱ በነገድ እሥራኤላዊ የሆነ የመጀመሪያው መቶ ክ/ዘመን ሰው ነው:: ጌታችን በመዋዕለ ስብከቱ ሲያስተምር በምሥጢሩና በተአምራቱ ተማርኮ ተከትሎታል:: ጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስም ከሰባ ሁለቱ አርድእት አንዱ ይሆን ዘንድ አድሎታል:: ከጌታችን ሕማማትና ስቅለት በፊትም ድውያንን መፈወስና አጋንንትን ማስወጣት ከቻሉ አርድእትም አንዱ ነው::

ቅዱስ መርቄሎስ በበዓለ ሃምሳ ጸጋ መንፈስ ቅዱስን ተቀብሎ ለወንጌል አገልግሎት ተሰማርቷል:: በተለያዩ የዓለም ክፍሎች ለሰላሳ አራት ዓመታት በማገልገሉ ሐዋርያት ስሙን "ጳውሎስ" ብለውታል:: ጳውሎስ ማለት ብርሃን ማለት ነውና:: ልክ ሳውል "ጳውሎስ" እንደተባለው ማለት ነው::

ስሙ የግብር (በሥራ የሚገኝ) ስም ነው:: በዚህም ምክንያት ዛሬም ድረስ ቤተ ክርስቲያን የምትጠራው "ጳውሎስ የተባለው መርቄሎስ" እያለች ነው::

ቅዱስ መርቄሎስ በ60ዎቹ ዓ/ም አካባቢ ከቅዱስ ጴጥሮስ ጋር በሮም ይሰብክ ነበር:: ኔሮን ቄሳር ሊቀ ሐዋርያትን ዘቅዝቆ ሲሰቅለው የተመለከተና ይህንኑ የጻፈ እርሱ ነበር:: ወታደሮቹ ቅዱስ ጴጥሮስን ገድለውት ሲሔዱ ቅዱስ መርቄሎስ እያነባ ቀርቦ: ችንካሮችንም ነቅሎ: ሊቀ ሐዋርያትን ከተሰቀለበት አወረደው::

በፍጥነት ዋጋው ውድ የሆነ ሽቱ አምጥቶ በቅዱስ ጴጥሮስ ሥጋ ላይ አፈሰሰና በፍቅርና በክብር ሊገንዘው ጀመረ:: በዚህ ጊዜ ሊቀ ሐዋርያት አይኑን ግልጥ አድርጎ መርቄሎስን ተመለከተውና አለው:- "ልጄ! ምነው ለእኔ ይህንን ያሕል ሽቱ አባከንክ?" አለውና ተምልሶ ዐረፈ::

ቅዱስ መርቄሎስም እግዚአብሔርን እያመሰገነ በንጹሕ በፍታ ገንዞ እርሱ በሚያውቀው ቦታ ሠወረው:: ሊቀ ሐዋርያትን በመገነዙ የክብር ክብር ተሰጥቶታል::

ቅዱሱ አሁንም ስብከተ ወንጌልን ቀጠለ:: ከጥቂት ጊዜ በኋላ ግን እርሱም ተይዞ በኔሮን ፊት ቀረበ:: ኔሮን ቄሳር ቅዱስ መርቄሎስን ጠየቀው:: "እንዴት ባለ አሟሟት ልግደልህ? እንደ መምህርሕ ጴጥሮስ ወይስ ሌላ የምትፈልገው ዓይነት አሟሟት አለህ?"

ቅዱስ መርቄሎስ መለሰለት:- "የትኛውም ዓይነት ሞት እኔን አያስፈራኝም:: የምፈልገው ወደ ጌታዬ ቶሎ መሔድ ብቻ ነው::" አለው:: ንጉሡ ኔሮንም ዘቅዝቃችሁ ስቀሉት አላቸው:: ወታደሮቹም በዚህች ዕለት እንደ ቅዱስ ጴጥሮስ ዘቅዝቀው ሰቅለው ገድለውታል::

ከክርስቶስ ልደት በፊት በ500 ዓመት አካባቢ የነበረ
¤እሥራኤል ከምርኮ ከተመለሱ በኋላ መጻሕፍት ተቃጥለው ጠፍተው ነበርና ስለ እነሱ አብዝቶ የለመነ
¤ጥበብን ሽቷልና እግዚአብሔር ቅዱስ ዑራኤልን የላከለት
¤በሊቀ መላእክት እጅም ጽዋዐ ልቡናን የጠጣ
¤ብዙ ምሥጢራት የተገለጡለት
¤ለአርባ ቀናት ምግብ ሳይበላ አገልጋዮቹ የጠፉ መጻሕፍትን እየነገራቸው የጻፉለት
¤መጽሐፈ ዕዝራ የተሰኘ መጽሐፍን ያዘጋጀና
¤በብሉይ ኪዳን ከነበሩ ዐበይት ነቢያተ ጽድቅ አንዱ የሆነ ታላቅ የእግዚአብሔር ሰው ነው::

††† ስለ ቅድስናውም ሞትን አልቀመሰም:: በዚህች ዕለት ቅዱሳን መላእክት ብሔረ ሕያዋን ውስጥ አስገብተውታል::

††† እግዚአብሔር ከሐዋርያውና ከነቢዩ በረከትን አይንሳን::

††† ሐምሌ 6 ቀን የሚከበሩ ዓመታዊ የቅዱሳን በዓላት

✞✞✞On this day we commemorate the Apostle Saint Merqellos (Aoulimpas/ Olympius) and the Prophet Saint Ezra✞✞✞

✞✞✞In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen!✞✞✞

✞✞✞ Saint Merqellos (Aoulimpas/ Olympius) the Apostle✞✞✞
=>The Saint was an Israelite in lineage and a man of the 1st century A.D. In the time of our Lord’s ministry, he followed the Lord after being captivated by His mystical and miraculous preaching. And our Lord Jesus Christ graced him to be one of the Seventy Two Disciples. He was also one of the disciples that were able to heal the sick and exorcise demons before our Lord’s passion and crucifixion.

✞After receiving the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, St. Merqellos went forth to preach the Gospel. And because he served and ministered in different parts of the world for 34 years the Apostles named him “Paul” as Paul means light. And that was like how Saul was called Paul.

✞The name is earned through deeds. And for this reason, the Church till this day calls him as “Merqellos who was called Paul”.

✞Around the 60s A.D St. Merqellos together with St. Peter preached in Rome. He was the one that saw the Arch-apostle crucified upside down by Caesar Nero and who wrote about it. After the soldiers had killed St. Peter and had gone their way, St. Merqellos came forth weeping, removed the nails and brought the Arch-apostle down from where he was crucified.

✞And immediately after, he hastily brought an expensive perfume, poured it upon the body of St. Peter and started to shroud him. At that moment, St. Peter opened up his eyes, looked at Merqellos, said, “My son! Why have you wasted such an amount of perfume for me?” and departed again.

✞Thereafter, St. Merqellos praising God shrouded him in a wholesome linen cloth and placed him in a concealed place which he only knew. He was given glory upon glory for shrouding the Arch-apostle.

✞The Saint continued his ministry of the gospel. But after some time he was also taken captive and was brought before Nero. Then, Nero asked St. Merqellos, “How should I kill you? Shall I kill you like your master Peter or do you have another way by which you wish to die?”

✞Then, St. Merqellos responded saying, “Any type of death doesn’t frighten me. What I only want is to hastily go to my Lord.” And the Emperor Nero ordered, “Crucify him upside down.” And on this day, the soldiers killed him by means of crucifying him upside down like St. Peter.

✞✞✞Saint Ezra the Prophet✞✞✞
=>He lived 500 years before the birth of Christ. He
-beseeched much after the return of Israelites from exile for the books of scripture as they were burned and lost,
-sought wisdom for which God sent him St. Uriel,
- and drank from the chalice of wisdom by the hands of an archangel.
-To him were revealed many mysteries.
-His servants wrote for him the lost books while he dictated them without consuming food for forty days.
-He prepared a book named “The Book of Ezra”.
-And he was a man of God, one of the Prophets of Truth that existed in the Old Testament.

✞✞✞He did not taste death because of his holiness. And on this day, the Holy Angels placed him in the Realm of the Living.

✞✞✞ May God not detach us from the blessings of the Apostle and the Prophet.

፭, 🌿ለሌሎች መኖርን።

፮, 🌿በሰው አለመፍረድን።
