📣 Update on ZilBridge

The Zilliqa team is working closely with Switcheo and Poly Network to resolve the Zilbridge platform's ongoing disruption, and we are making progress.

Our priority is to restore full functionality to ZilBridge while retaining the integrity of the platform's infrastructure, as extracting user funds from the ZilBridge lock-proxy contract during this disruption would incur the risk of double-spending.

We will publish a root cause analysis (RCA) that clarifies the issues which the relevant teams are working hard to resolve.

We acknowledge the frustration caused by this disruption and are working as quickly as we can to restore functionality.
📣 Update on ZilBridge

Significant progress has been made in resolving the ongoing disruption to ZilBridge.

All transactions that were stuck should now be committed, and full functionality will be restored once resynchronisation is complete.

At the current synchronisation rate, we expect ZilBridge to be back online by the beginning of next week.

Thank you for your patience as we work with Switcheo Labs and Poly Network to resolve this issue.
📢 ZilBridge is back online!

Full functionality has been restored to the ZilBridge platform, with all transactions now synchronised and users once again able to bridge tokens at https://zilswap.io/bridge.

We understand that the extended disruption to ZilBridge has been a frustrating experience, and we appreciate the patience shown by the community as we worked with Switcheo Labs and Poly Network to bring the platform back online.

We will shortly publish a root cause analysis that will provide a detailed breakdown of this issue and how it was resolved.

As the Zilliqa network approaches a more sustainable tokenomics model with reduced inflation, the estimated return for stakers remains attractive, especially compared with other major blockchains.

With attractive rewards, reducing inflation and an upcoming shift to Proof-of-Stake, there has never been a better time to play a crucial role in securing the Zilliqa network.

Attention Zilfam!

As a result of unexpected behaviour in Zilliqa's rewards distribution mechanics, the ongoing adjustment to staking rewards has not been reducing inflation by the amount we had predicted.

We have implemented a workaround to correct this issue, which involves setting the staking reward parameter in the contract to the pre-adjustment rate and then manually remitting the difference between the advertised and collected rewards back to the null address.

This will have the effect of reducing inflation as intended while ensuring the rewards received by stakers continue to follow the previously forecasted trend in line with the monthly adjustments.

This change will be implemented with the next planned adjustment to staking rewards, scheduled for May 2, 2024.
ZIL, the native token of the Zilliqa blockchain, is now officially listed on Bit2Me, one of the leading centralised exchanges in Europe and Latin America.

Users can now buy ZIL through Bit2Me's exchange and wallet, or even use the Bit2Me Mastercard to spend ZIL for real-world purchases.

“Together with Bit2Me's robust regulatory compliance and broad user base, the listing of ZIL brings tangible benefits to both seasoned traders and newcomers alike," says Zilliqa CEO Matt Dyer.

"Spain and Latin America have become hotbeds of growth within the Zilliqa ecosystem, and through this listing we are delighted to be delivering better access for our community in these regions.”

Zilfam! 📢 Around 03:12 PM UTC, a slowdown in mainnet block generation was detected.

To delve deeper, transaction processing was halted at 04:00 PM UTC, permitting the network to clear the transactions in the mempool and self-recover.

Presently, we await the new epoch to ensure full data synchronization before re-enabling transactions, while monitoring block generation for continued proper functioning.

The team will persist in the investigation to determine the root cause. As always we appreciate your continued support & patience.

Update - We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
Zilliqa network update 📢

The Zilliqa infrastructure team continues to work on resolving the ongoing disruption to mainnet block generation.

Preliminary analysis indicates this may be related to an issue within a specific function that returns a null value instead of a node's RLP following a possible invalid database lookup, which results in the function throwing an error.

The team has created internal rehearsal networks to recreate this issue and trial bug fixes, allowing for possible solutions to be tested within an isolated environment before progressing to Testnet and mainnet deployments.

We will provide additional updates and outline further steps for remediation as soon as this information becomes available. We appreciate your patience and support as we actively work to restore network stability.
The Zilliqa mainnet is now back online and full functionality has been restored.

In addition to this fix, we have also rolled out the previously announced Zilliqa v9.3.4 network upgrade, which includes a number of enhancements to EVM compatibility. Node operators should therefore ensure they are using the latest v9.3.4 configuration files to join the upgraded Zilliqa mainnet.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we appreciate the patience and support shown by the Zilliqa community.
Dear community, We are writing to inform you that we are aware of a further disruption to Block production on Mainnet. The issues that caused the previous network outage were not conclusive and, it is apparent that the logs did not provide the necessary insights to properly address the underlying cause.

Following the previous outage and with enhanced debugging now enabled, we are now better positioned to identify and address the underlying problem.

We are currently working to diagnose the root issue and restore full functionality to the network. We appreciate your patience at this time.

Note - Funds are SAFU. If you can't see funds in your wallet, You can always check it on-chain by going to https://viewblock.io/zilliqa, add your Zil address in search box & hit enter.
The Zilliqa network is back online following temporary disruptions to block production on mainnet. Functionality has now been restored and the network is once again processing transactions normally.

The infrastructure team continues to monitor the stability of the network as it works to diagnose the underlying cause of the recent disruptions. However, we hope the fix we have now deployed averts the risk of further interruptions to mainnet block production going forward.

Thank you for your patience and support during the course of resolving this issue.
The Zilliqa ecosystem saw continued growth and several important moments during April 2024.

We saw a host of updates and announcements from projects building on Zilliqa, and The Winners Circle continued to build its profile and momentum across both the loyalty industry and the sport of horse racing.

The Zilliqa team attended several events, including #ParisBlockchainWeek and #Token2049, and we also engaged the community on staking by outlining how new stakers can benefit by staking ZIL ahead of the shift to Zilliqa 2.0.

"As we have moved into May, we continue to build towards the upcoming overhaul of the network with Zilliqa 2.0 while fostering the lift-off of landmark Web3 projects in our ecosystem," Zilliqa CEO Matt Dyer says.

"As we reflect on the achievements of the past month, I am grateful for the community's continued support and enthusiasm."
