๐ŸŒŸ Over the past two years, bright and motivated students across Uzbekistan have participated in the English Access Microscholarship Program, funded by U.S. Department of State, improving their English proficiency while developing essential 21st-century skills.

Through interactive lessons, cultural activities, and personal growth opportunities, Access students have become confident, capable young leaders ready for the global workforce and beyond.

Thanks to the strong commitment of students and the dedication of passionate teachers, the program has achieved remarkable success nationwide.

๐ŸŽ“ To celebrate these accomplishments, graduation ceremonies were held from June 30 to July 2, 2025, at five Access centers, where 132 students received their certificates of completion.

These events highlighted the studentsโ€™ dedication and achievements throughout the program. It was a proud and inspiring moment for all involved.

๐ŸŒŸ #RARinAction in Namangan!

On June 21, 2025, Regional Alumni Representative in Namangan Elena Mustaeva led a dynamic Career Mentorship Program at LSL Private School in Namangan. The event brought together 49 motivated high school students and 13 accomplished alumni of U.S. Government exchange programs, including the Online Professional English Network (OPEN), Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (Fulbright TEA) Program, TechGirls, Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP), and the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX).

๐ŸŽ“ Through a full day of interactive workshops, motivational talks, and networking sessions, students explored career planning, leadership, and the value of global education. Morning sessions featured OPEN alumni leading workshops on diverse career paths and resume writing, FEP alumna offering insights on resilience and growth, and Fulbright TEA alumni helping students align academic choices with personal goals.

โ˜•๏ธ A coffee break gave participants the chance to network informally with the speakers and each other, creating space for meaningful conversations.

๐Ÿ’ฌ In the afternoon, FLEX and TechGirls alumni inspired students through talks on overcoming challenges, pursuing tech careers, and setting SMART goals. Students also participated in mock job interviews and a Q&A session where they received practical tips and encouragement for their next steps.

๐Ÿ™Œ The event created a warm and welcoming space where alumni shared their stories and offered ongoing support through mentorship and the alumni community.

Meet Zulfikar Djumaev, the Regional Alumni Representative for Surkhandarya region!

๐ŸŒŸ Zulfikar Djumaev is an English teacher, and a proud alumnus of the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) program. He has participated in several other U.S. government supported educational initiatives, including the TESOL Core Certificate Program through the English-Speaking Nation (ESN) project, and the Tajikistan Secondary School English Teachers Professional Development (TSSET) Program โ€“ all aimed at enhancing the quality of English language teaching across Central Asia. As a Core Trainer of ESN program, he led workshops in Surkhandarya, co-organized national conferences, and supported hundreds of fellow educators.

Zulfikar became a RAR to strengthen alumni connections and give back to the community that shaped him. He aims to promote professional growth, organize impactful events, and ensure alumni voices are heard. He believes in the power of networks to drive positive change.

๐ŸŒŸ #AlumniImpact in Chirchik!

From June 5 to 28, Dilorom Hushvaktova, a 2014 Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program and 2023 Access Academic Exchange Program alumna, led a dynamic professional development project titled โ€œUnderstanding American Perspectives through Popular Culture with English Language Teachers". Over the course of 12 interactive sessions held every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the initiative brought together 30 passionate English teachers from Chirchik and nearby schools.

๐Ÿ“š Inspired by her recent academic exchange in Kansas, Dilorom introduced teachers to new ways of incorporating authentic American cultural materials, such as virtual museum tours, U.S. literature, and digital media, into their classrooms.

๐ŸŽจ Through engaging activities and open discussions, teachers explored how American values are reflected in everyday culture, from social media to art and beyond. The sessions went beyond textbook holidays and vocabulary, focusing on intercultural competence and strategies to bring real-world context into English lessons.

๐Ÿ’ก By the end of the program, participants walked away with fresh ideas, practical tools, and renewed motivation to inspire their students with more meaningful, culturally rich learning experiences.

๐ŸŒŸ Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Alisher Faizullaev |Fulbright Visiting Scholar (2011โ€“2012) Alumnus

We are proud to spotlight Dr. Alisher Faizullaev โ€” a scholar, educator, and former diplomat who continues to bridge global perspectives through teaching, research, and training.

During his Fulbright fellowship, Dr. Faizullaev deepened his expertise in diplomacy and negotiation by engaging with leading scholars and practitioners in the U.S. That experience helped shape his path as an international educator and trainer.

Today, he teaches strategic thinking and negotiation at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Webster University in Tashkent, while also leading workshops for diplomats and entrepreneurs. In recent years, he served as the Leif J. Sverdrup Global Teaching Fellow at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri (2024) and the Tom and Ruth Sharkey Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey (2025).

A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Faizullaev continues to contribute to international academic journals and presses, advancing the field of diplomacy and negotiation.

๐Ÿ’ซ The English for IT Summer Camp Officially Launches with a Dynamic Training of Trainers

The program kicked off with an impactful Training of Trainers (ToT), held in Tashkent on July 24โ€“25 โ€” designed to align instructors on the curriculum and explore effective methodologies for delivering engaging sessions throughout the camp.

Trainers from Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, and Nukus came together for two days of interactive sessions and hands-on workshops, building the skills and confidence to lead dynamic, student-centered camps for 9th and 10th graders across Uzbekistan.

๐Ÿ“šThis ToT marked the beginning of a three-week journey (July 28 โ€“ August 15, 2025) that empowers youth with English language, IT skills, and leadership development โ€” all through engaging, project-based learning. Students will also benefit from leadership sessions delivered by U.S. trainers, adding a global perspective to the experience.

Through interactive sessions, collaborative projects, and guest speaker events, the initiative aims to strengthen communication skills, digital competencies, and future career pathways for Uzbekistanโ€™s rising generation of tech-minded learners. The camp also promotes awareness of global technology trends and encourages future collaboration with U.S. institutions and businesses.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The English for IT Program is funded by the U.S. Government through the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Uzbekistan and implemented by American Councils for International Education in partnership with IT Park University.

๐Ÿ’ซ Preparing for Cohort 5: C5+O.N.E. Pre-Test Completed!

From July 7 to 29, over 330 professionals from more than 14 organizations, including ministries, government agencies, and universities, took part in the C5+O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) Programโ€™s pre-test phase in Tashkent, Nukus, Andijan, and Fergana. Participants completed the adaptive KTE (Kaplan Test of English) exam to assess their English proficiency.

Funded by the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and implemented by the American Councils for International Education, the C5+O.N.E. Program helps Central Asian business, government, and non-profit professionals working across various sectors of the economy in strengthening their English communication skills through 180 hours of student-centered instruction delivered over three trimesters. Based on the test results, selected participants will join Cohort 5 and begin their learning journey.

Beyond language instruction, C5+O.N.E. serves as a powerful platform for professional growth and regional engagement, offering participants opportunities to attend regional conferences and workshops. These events foster collaborative networks and promote cross-border dialogue throughout Central Asia.

The C5+O.N.E. Program is more than just English lessons โ€“ it's a transformative platform that nurtures professional networks, fosters regional connectivity, and empowers Central Asian professionals working across various sectors of the economy, and opens the door to meaningful U.S.-Central Asia dialogue and cross-border integration.
