Weβre excited to share that the English for IT Camp officially began on July 28 (Monday) and will continue for 17 days of immersive learning and collaboration across five sites of Uzbekistan - Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, and Nukus.
This dynamic summer camp is designed to equip young participants with essential skills in English, information technology, and leadership skills - key tools for success in the modern world. Over the course of the program, students will:

πFarrukh is a proud Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (Fubright TEA) 2022 alumnus, an English teacher with over 10 years of experience, and the founder of Language Center in Navoi.
He believes serving as a RAR is a great way to keep contributing to the amazing alumni community and stay connected with fellow alumni. In this role, he has led a number of educational and professional trainings and events for alumni and looks forward to supporting and inspiring more meaningful initiatives in Navoi.

π Alumni Spotlight: Firdavs Navruzov |Fulbright Foreign Student Program Alumnus (2014β2015)
Meet Firdavs Navruzov β an education leader dedicated to transforming teaching and learning in Uzbekistan.
Firdavs currently serves as the Director of the Transformation Department at the National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, where he leads nationwide reforms in teacher education. He is also the founder of The Knowledge Academy, a bilingual private school that promotes holistic education and global citizenship.
His Fulbright experience in the U.S. was a turning point, expanding his worldview, strengthening his leadership skills, and inspiring him to bring innovative practices to Uzbekistanβs education system. It also deepened his appreciation for civic engagement, global mindset, and lifelong learning.

π On August 6, 2025, as part of the Guest Speaker Series of the English for IT Summer Camp, participants had a chance to connect with Jamila Nasridinova, Education Outreach Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, during a special hybrid session. The session was held in person in Tashkent and streamed online for participants in Samarkand, Bukhara, Fergana, and Nukus β ensuring all students across five cities could take part.

π #RARinAction in Fergana Valley!
On July 22, 2025, alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange programs from Fergana, Namangan, and Andijan gathered in Fergana for the Cross-Regional Alumni Conference: Inspiring Change Through Collaboration. The conference was organized through a joint effort by the Regional Alumni Representatives of Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan, and brought together 30 participants from across the three regions, representing a wide range of exchange programs, including ACCESS, FLEX, IVLP, TEA, FEP, ESN, OPEN, FLTA, and Fulbright.
Throughout the day, alumni took part in a variety of interactive sessions, including informative presentations, breakout discussions, and team activities. Highlights included meaningful presentations by FLEX alumni Abdurahmon Dadaboyev and Mansur Odiljonov, and Fulbright TEA alumna Feruza Erkulova, who shared insights on leadership, personal growth, and making a difference through global experiences. In the Education and Business breakout tracks, alumni explored topics such as emotional intelligence, freelancing, creative teaching approaches, business strategies, and mentorship. The event also featured a FLEX Reflections session, where FLEX alumni took the stage to share personal stories and celebrate their exchange journeys.
π€ This cross-regional gathering not only helped alumni reconnect but also showed the power of collaboration in creating lasting impact in their communities.

πOn August 9, 2025, the Uzbekistan Business Leaders (UBL) Alumni Conference brought together over 30 alumni, partners, and distinguished guests at the Mir Luxe Plaza Hotel in Tashkent. The event celebrated the achievements of UBL alumni and provided a platform for exchanging ideas, strengthening professional networks, and exploring collaborative opportunities.
The conference opened with welcoming remarks from American Councils staff, followed by alumni introductions. Keynote speaker Faris Alami delivered an inspiring session on "Building a Thriving Ecosystem: Empowering Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth."
πThe afternoon featured a dynamic panel discussion on βAdvancing Entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan through U.S. Collaboration,β moderated by Program Manager Sardor Djurabaev, with U.S. guest speaker Faris Alami and alumni panelists Nodira Vakhidova, Surat Karimov, and Shakhnoza Tokhtiyarova sharing insights from their experiences. Participants then engaged in an interactive "Alumni Network Visioning Brainstorming Session" to chart the future of the UBL alumni community.
The conference concluded with closing remarks, certificate presentations, and renewed commitments to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation across Uzbekistan.

Meet Miryokubjon Shodiyev β a Fulbright TEA 2024 alumnus and the principal of School #23 in Navoiy city. In just one year in this role, he has led a team of 100 staff and over 1,000 students while introducing new ideas to improve teaching and learning.
Motivated by the U.S. education system and culture during his practicum at Chico High School in California, Miryokubjon has brought fresh energy to his school. He actively organizes subject and sports clubs, art competitions, and various student-led initiatives that encourage creativity and leadership.
He also works closely with local officials, regional governors, and education leaders, helping expand the reach of his experience and promote innovation across the region. For Miryokubjon, sharing knowledge and encouraging young minds is at the heart of everything he does.
