有無諗過身在英國的我地都可以為香港手足做D野?

與其等其他人或者機構話您知去做D乜，不如自己諗下可以做D乜野去出一分力。其中一個方法係執起支筆，加入寫信師行列，為牆內的手足送暖。 通過文字去表達對佢哋嘅支持同鼓勵，簡單咁分享你日常生活發生嘅大小同埋想法，已經可以令佢哋知道佢哋並不孤單，牆外依然有好多同路人記得佢哋，同佢地一齊撐落去。記得避免寫無定向式的信件 (Unspecific letter)，一個有名有姓有經歷有感情的信，一定能夠為手足帶來更大的感覺。

為紀念6.12 反對逃犯條例修訂草案遊行與集會兩週年，暖氣軍師撐香港將於2021年6月12日在倫敦舉行6.12 集會，並選出了4首英文歌於集會當日讓香港與英國本地人一同人合唱，用來強調英港兩地之間密切的歷史關係，同時向國際社會推廣香港民族身份，以及對英國政府為BN(O)港人提供新的入籍途徑及優待政策表達謝意；最後呼籲英國繼續制裁中共，為侵蝕港人自由、徹底破壞香港自治而負責。

Background: The song was originally understood to celebrate war and the British Empire but is also often performed as a general show of patriotism. It has traditionally been performed at the Last Night of the Proms to a flag-waving reception, as well as being played or sung at certain sporting event.
Lines that reflect the song’s links to the British Empire include “wider and wider still” which is thought to refer to the empire growing by taking over more lands, which critics say is no longer appropriate in this day and age. The song was written soon after Britain winning the Boer War, which saw thousands of civilians confined to British-run concentration camps.

由於有好多人踴躍詢問暖氣軍師撐香港於本月30日舉辦嘅行山活動，所以我哋而家會喺度統一回答一啲基本問題。

當天暖氣軍師撐香港的成員將會在埸帶領，而是次行山活動全程的距離將會是8英里，參與此活動的BBCs 將完成來回的路線，共16英里，我哋亦歡迎有經驗的參加者跟他們完成折返路線到Rickmansworth。

而其餘的參加者的終點是Uxbridge, 共8英里, 當天行山的路線圖如下。

Below please find additional information regarding the hiking activity that will be held on the 30th May, The length of the walk is under 8 miles. JHK members will be attending and guiding the group on the day.

Which most of the BBCs will do a round trip of a total of 16 miles and participants who are experienced in hiking could follow them to complete the round trip to Rickmansworth, whereas the rest of the people will be finishing the walk in Uxbridge.

FREE THE BOOKS
Defend Press Freedom, Donate Books to Libraries in Britain

Under the repercussions of China's National Security Law in Hong Kong, Hong Kong government has extirpated numerous books stored from the public libraries in order to impede the dissemination of knowledge and ideas, ban any dissenting theory, and blatantly trample on freedom of speech, publication and thought. It is indispensable to free the banned books.

UNESCO Public Library Manifesto affirms 'Material must reflect current trends and the evolution of society, as well as the memory of human endeavour and imagination. Collections and services should not be subject to any form of ideological, political or religious censorship, nor commercial pressures'.

If freedom as the core value of Hong Kong is rooted out in the city, it should be inherited and defended by diasporic Hongkongers around the world.

Therefore, Hongkongers in Britain (HKB) partnered with Hong Kong's democratic activists Honcques Laus and Simon Cheng to jointly commence the "Free the Books" campaign, and is in contact with libraries across the UK, to allow Hong Kong banned books to be kept in Britain.

Background:
The most accurate plain English interpretation of the Auld Lang Syne’s famous title is ‘Old long since’, or ‘For the sake of old times’.
The song itself is reflective in nature, and is basically about two friends catching up over a drink or two, their friendship having been long and occasionally distant. The words were written by Scottish poet Robert Burns in 1788, but Burns himself revealed at the time of composing it that he had collected the words after listening to the verse of an old man on his travels, claiming that his version of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ marked the first time it had been formally written down.

Background:
In 1908, Spring Rice was posted to the British Embassy in Stockholm. In 1912, he was appointed as Ambassador to the United States of America, where he influenced the administration of Woodrow Wilson to abandon neutrality and join Britain in the war against Germany. After the United States entered the war, he was recalled to Britain. Shortly before his departure from the US in January 1918, he re-wrote and renamed Urbs Dei as "I vow to thee, my country." significantly altering the first verse to concentrate on the themes of love and sacrifice rather than "the noise of battle" and "the thunder of her guns", creating a more sombre tone in view of the dreadful loss of life suffered in the Great War. The first verse in both versions invokes Britain; the second verse, the Kingdom of Heaven.

The pro-democracy movement in HK was founded with the spirit and respect to the diversities of opinions and strategies.

6月12日對香港人而言是難以忘懷的一天——香港政府無視公眾反對，推行備受爭議的引渡條例，引發隨之而來的一系列警民衝突。隨著中國政府收緊對香港的措施，包括於2020年6月實施「國家安全法」及拘捕多名抗爭者，大力打擊抗爭的同時，亦收緊言論自由。


暖氣軍師撐香港與其他組織將於這天，於英國倫敦、曼城、雷丁及碧仙桃四個城市舉辦集會與分享。


香港民族此一身分於文化、信念及價值觀上，均是有別於「傳統中國人」的民族認同。我們很榮幸有NOW（Fridays For Freedom）、一眾華裔英國人，還有西藏和緬甸的團體以盟友身分，參加6月12日下午3時30分倫敦萊斯特廣場的遊行，支持同為奶茶聯盟一員的香港人。

12 June marks a significant date for HongKongers (HKers). The pushing of a controversial extradition bill by the government despite mass opposition opened up a series of intense conflict between the police and the protesters later the year. With the tightened measures by China such as introduction of national security law in June 2020 and many protestors being arrested, it effectively curtails protest and freedom of speech. 6.12 is an unforgettable date for HKers.

JHK together with other organizations takes this opportunity to organize rallies in FOUR cities in the UK, namely London, Manchester, Reading and Bristol. We all convey the same messages that how grateful the HKers are to gain the support from the UK to allow us to settle here and secondly, HKer is an unique ethnic identity compared with traditional chinese in term of our different culture, belief and value. We are glad to have our allies, The Tibetans and Myanmar communities to attend the London rallies to support us as part of the Milk Tea Alliance.
