In memory of [University Campus Sieges], we are holding an event at Southbank tomorrow as November marks the second anniversary of the incident. Various photographs capturing moments of [Siege of the Chinese University of Hong Kong], [Siege of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University] and the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement provided by “Nottingham Stands With Hong Kong” are to make their debut in London. It is hoped that Britons would learn the humanitarian crisis in Hong Kong, as well as the reason behind our persistence.

11月是【大學保衛戰】兩週年。JHK於11月28日（星期日）在倫敦市Southbank 區舉行有關紀念活動。題活動由中午12:00至下午5:00圓滿結束。
當日是天朗氣清卻嚴寒的一個下午，但在JHK的10多位義工協助下，活動順利完成。當日展出了多幅【中大保衛戰】、【理大圍城】及反送中示威相片，相片均首次在倫敦展出。特別嗚謝‘’Nottingham Stands With Hong Kong‘’提供該輯相片。
活動主要向英國本土人士解說香港現況、在大學保衛戰中的香港抗爭者被極權政府的打壓，以及警方對和平示威人士使用過度武力的行為。當日途人們無不被震撼的相片吸引而紛紛停下腳步觀看，並讓我們一眾義工詳細解釋香港所發生的事情。很多途人們看罷、聽罷都表現悲忿及對香港情況表示關心。
當日亦同時設立街站，跟另一香港在英組織「細葉榕」舉行首次合作活動，邀請在場人士寫信予因「反送中」運動而在囚人士。
是次活動在兩方在英組織均取得正面的迴響，期望日後籌辦更多類似的活動，好讓英國本土人士更了解香港情況。

作為支援在英亞裔及港人（包括庇護申請人、難民、及移民） 的社區、組織及夥伴，我們僅此嚴正關切在英港人及其他少數族裔的人身安全。 本份聲明事緣於十一月二十七日由英國監察組、倫敦民權法律中心、英國福建華僑華人聯合總會主辦「停止種族主義，拒絕新冷戰」集會之後所發生的暴力襲擊事件，以及一些團體不約而同地發動針對港人及亞裔社群的恐嚇及威脅。
我們憂慮一些反種族歧視的正當訴求，被中共及一些獨裁政體的宣傳伎倆所利用和騎劫， 就像今次主辦方所推動的「停止種族主義，拒絕新冷戰」集會般，將批評中國專制政權的言論視為是針對華裔人士的偏見， 捏造成歧視亞裔人士的根源，企圖混淆英國當地公眾的視聽；對於新疆、西藏、香港及其他不同族裔人士被中共政權有系統地歧視及迫害，造成大量人口流離失所，對亞裔流散社區影響深遠的事實，卻視而不見。
而促使我們發表此聯合聲明的，是因為有數名港人以和平方式抗議上述「反種族歧視」集會的立場虛偽且誤導時，遭到與會人士的暴力襲擊。更令我們關注的，是近日微信正流傳一則懸紅，指任何人若能提供香港社運人士鄭文傑及羅冠聰的英國地址，就能獲得一萬英鎊獎金。我們亦留意到有其他微信訊息，顯示有人正組織團隊，打算向任何支持香港獨立的港人組織施襲。這些恐嚇手段不僅威脅到香港人（及其他港人的支持者）的人身安全，更嚴重侵犯了香港人的基本言論自由。
自嚴苛的《港區國安法》在香港生效後，不少港人移居英國尋求庇護。香港人在英國開展新生活時，應感到安全及受保障。
我們呼籲英國民眾支持港人、東亞及東南亞人士，確保大家在英國都能透過社區資源中心、法律援助中心和其他公民組織等，獲得長遠的保障和支援。同時，我們呼籲各盟友攜手對抗在任何地方發生、一切形式的種族主義及獨裁國家暴力。

As organisations representing and/or serving and supporting Hongkongers and broader East and Southeast Asia (ESEA) communities in the UK - including groups comprising asylum seekers, refugees and migrants - and allies, we are writing to express our grave concerns about the safety and security of Hongkongers and fellow minoritised groups in the UK. This statement follows a violent attack that took place after last week’s “TIME TO ACT - Stop Racism, No to New Cold War” rally on 27th November, an event organised by The Monitoring Group, Min Quan and the Federation of Fujian Chinese; and multiple threats and tactics of intimidation used by different groups against Hongkongers and other members of ESEA communities.
In general, we are concerned that calls for unity against anti-Asian racism - including that invoked by the “Stop Racism, No to New Cold War” rally organisers - have been used to silence legitimate criticisms of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its repressive regime, which have committed grave atrocities and human rights violations against Uyghur Muslims and other minoritised groups in Xinjiang, as well as against Tibetans and Hongkongers, among others. Surely this, too, is racism, even though it does not take place in the UK. This racial violence of course has global ramifications, including resulting in displacement and forced migration, with impacts on ESEA diaspora communities.
What has prompted this statement in particular is the violent attack against numerous Hongkongers who organised a peaceful counter-protest to highlight the hypocrisy of this rally. Moreover, we have become aware of messages circulating on WeChat (an instant messaging app) putting a bounty on two Hong Kong activists (Simon Cheng and Nathan Law), offering £10,000 to anyone who could offer their UK addresses. Last weekend, we saw messages seeking to create vigilante groups to attack any Hong Kong groups supporting Hong Kong independence. These tactics of intimidation not only threaten the safety and security of Hongkongers (and supporters of Hongkongers’ struggles), they infringe on Hongkongers’ fundamental right to freedom of expression.
Since the advent of the draconian National Security Law, many Hongkongers have migrated to the UK to seek sanctuary. Hongkongers deserve to feel safe and secure as they build their new home.
We call upon the support of everyone in the UK to secure long-term protection and support for Hongkongers - and broader ESEA communities - in the UK, including through resourcing community centres, legal aid clinics, and other civic organisations. We also call on our allies to stand with us in the fight against racism and authoritarian state violence in all forms, wherever it occurs.

義工心聲：得知暖氣軍師撐香港將會展出2019年大規模示威的相片(由諾定咸撐香港組織提供 )後，我就決定參與成為活動的義工。
照片勾起許多香港人身同感受的強烈記憶，而對我來說，也正好藉這個機會細看照片，回顧所發生的事情。
做義工當日，我的情緒被留步細察照片的途人的反應和回應牽動著，他們都有興趣知道事件的來龍去脈。
我遇上曾經居住在香港的人，在香港還有家人和朋友的人，我們都同樣關心他們在持續動盪中的安危。就在這一刻，我的情緒也激動起來，是為了表達我對這個我廿多年前離開的地方的擔憂。
這畢竟是一個我曾經稱之為家的地方，滿載着寶貴又美好的回憶，一個已變得面目全非的家。

活動後感 (1) 義工心聲：得知暖氣軍師撐香港將會展出2019年大規模示威的相片(由諾定咸撐香港組織提供 )後，我就決定參與成為活動的義工。 照片勾起許多香港人身同感受的強烈記憶，而對我來說，也正好藉這個機會細看照片，回顧所發生的事情。 做義工當日，我的情緒被留步細察照片的途人的反應和回應牽動著，他們都有興趣知道事件的來龍去脈。 我遇上曾經居住在香港的人，在香港還有家人和朋友的人，我們都同樣關心他們在持續動盪中的安危。就在這一刻，我的情緒也激動起來，是為了表達我對這個我廿多年前離開的地方的擔憂。…
活動後感 (1) by volunteer:
As I was aware that JHK would exhibit photos (provided from Nottingham Stands With Hong Kong) taken from the 2019 mass protest, I decided to help faciliating the event as a volunteer.
The photos carry intense memories shared by a lot of the Hongkongers, and it was a good opportunity for myself too to look at the photos and reminisce the events at the same time.
While I was volunteering, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the reaction and response from those who stopped by to check out the pictures properly and wanting to find out more.
I met people who used to live in Hong Kong. I met people who still have family and friends in Hong Kong, for whom we share the same worries about the ongoing unrest. It is at that moment that I felt emotional while I expressed my fair share of concern for a place I left 20 odd years ago.
Afterall, it is still a place I called Home, packed with precious and fond memories.
Just a home I no longer recognise.

有見及此，我們NSWHK正準備於十二月十一日（星期六）下午籌辦一個公開會議，並邀請了當地Nottingham MPs出席，讓他們聆聽以及了解身居Nottingham的香港人所面對的種種生活問題。

傘聚成員包括在英國的香港人及一班關心香港的英國人，我們與香港人同舟共濟。傘聚扎根於倫敦及聚焦於主要港人聚居地，我們在融入本地同時建立了跨種族網絡。藉此社群，我們致力承存香港的文化、保留香港人身份，延續香港人精神。
隨著時代變遷 ，雨傘已成為香港人團結的象徵，並被採納為我們組織的名字。「傘」是香港文化和我們自我認同的象徵。「傘聚」除了以傘子代表香港人，亦有同音的「散聚」的意思，代表離散的港人在這個組織裏聚集在一起。當眾人撐起雨傘形成一個「遮陣」時，它象徵著團結，並為所有與我們價值觀相同的人提供庇護。團結就是力量。

10月31日開始英國正式步入冬令時間，這是筆者在英國迎接的第二個冬季，相信亦是很多新來的香港人首個或次個冬季。回想剛過去的冬天，希望跟大家分享一件事情。
來英國前，筆者經香港朋友介紹，認識了一位在英40年的香港女仕，其房屋是 Bungalow，可以租用其中一個亦是唯一一個出租房間數月作為落腳處。這位女仕首次出租房間，租金包含水、電、煤氣等。
到埗時正值冬天，屋內只有一個在客廳的暖氣開關，筆者續漸發覺房東每逢外出時，都會把暖氣關掉。某天房東一整天在外，天空突然下起雪來，筆者在屋內只感到越來越冷，後來實在忍不住去開暖氣。房東回來發現後，大動肝火，臭駡筆者一頓，謂凍就出街，暖氣只可由她控制開關。翌日，筆者就生病了差不多兩個星期。直至搬走前，筆者多次就開關暖氣問題交涉，無奈房東都一直如是沒有改善。當初憑一個「信」字，沒有訂立租約，令自己吃虧。
其實英國有明確租務條件規定房東要為租客提供水、電、煤氣及熱水的設施。冬天時睡房和客廳分別最少要維持18及21度，而租客更有權去控制溫度。如果租客當中有嬰兒、老人、長期病患者或曾病患者，更有日間和晚間最基本溫度的規定。租住地方的設施如有任何損壞，房東需要正面回應，不能一個拖字而不去解決問題。在thetenantsvoice網頁，更清楚列明租客面對房東漠視時，每一個步驟如何去應付。
在此希望大家清楚自己的權益，在英國能夠渡過每一個溫暖的寒冬。
