🌱 10 QUOTES FOR 10 YEARS OF LAUDATO SI' 🌏

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ groundbreaking encyclical on the environment, human dignity, and our shared responsibility to protect the Earth. In this urgent and hope-filled letter, Pope Francis invites us to hear both “the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor.” (LS49)

As we celebrate a decade of its impact, let us reflect on its message via these 10 quotes, and perhaps even embark on reading and reflecting on the full message.

Let’s also recommit to living out its message. Whether through advocacy, sustainable living, prayer, or community efforts - every step matters in caring for our common home.

Anselm was raised a cradle Catholic by his grandmother. He would attend Mass every Sunday by her side. But as adult life took over, the stress and distractions slowly pulled him away from the Church. What followed was a season of loneliness.

In 2013, a crisis at work brought him to his knees. Remembering the peace he once knew, he returned to Church, not to attend Mass at first. But to sit and pray near Mother Mary. Eventually, he walked in. That small act of courage became a homecoming. Through the Landings program, he found community. People who understood his struggles and walked with him.

When his father passed away soon after, grief hit hard. But this time, Anselm didn’t face it alone. Through prayer and community, he found strength. Today, he holds onto the truth that even in our wandering, God still calls us “friend.” If you’re carrying pain, doubts, or feel far from the Church, this might be your sign. Just take one small step. Come home.

In this year’s World Communications Day message, the late Pope Francis shared about the importance of hope. This focus is notably key to all of us especially in this Jubilee Year of Hope, for hope – “a hidden virtue, tenacious and patient” – is not only a necessary condition for us Christians, but is a “performative” virtue capable of changing our lives. Hope is linked to Christian witness and communication. What this means is that the message of hope is not one that only needs to be mastered and shared by professional communicators, but by all of us! The communication of hope is a mission that each of us must undertake, if we are to truly be witnesses of the Gospel.

How can you “account with gentleness for the hope that is in your heart”? In what areas must you grow or offer up to the Lord, so that you can be more effective in the communication of hope in this broken world?

This June, Pope Leo XIV invites us to pray for a world that chooses compassion.

In a world that often feels heavy, may we find comfort in the heart of Jesus and, from that place of love, learn to see and serve others with gentleness and mercy. 🙏
The heart of our Christian faith isn’t just about following rules — it’s about a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. One that awakens something deep within us and invites us to truly become His disciple.

For some, that moment comes like a lightning bolt. For others, it’s a gentle unfolding. But no matter how it happens, every Catholic is called to this 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 — a real, intentional turning toward Jesus.

So here’s the question: Is your faith truly your own? Or is it something you’ve simply inherited? Like the apostles, we must each come to that moment where we say with conviction, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68)

But what does that really mean? And how can we care for the quiet space within, where God speaks and heals? Swipe to find out more!

With Jesus’ ascension into heaven and the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the disciples experienced Christ’s presence in a new way.

Similarly, we are invited to discover how Jesus remains with us in our everyday lives, be it through the sacraments, or in the little ordinary ways that we might easily miss amidst our busyness and struggles.

In what other ways do you see Christ present in your life? How does Christ, our Hope, continue to manifest in our midst even in this present age?

What are they? 🤔 They are diverse communities where we grow in faith, support each other, and share the Gospel! From long-standing associations to new movements, they call us to holiness and action. They inspire us to bring Christ's love to the world!

Today, let us call to mind and thank these movements for enriching our lives and renew our commitment to community and building a better world.
