In Q1 2023, non-Irish citizens, making up 12% of Ireland's 2022 population (indicated by the dashed purple line in the figure), represented nearly 38% of rent supplement recipients.

This indicates an overrepresentation of more than threefold, which has been present for years.

In Q1 2023, non-Irish citizens formed 36% of Jobseekers Allowance recipients, a significant rise from Q4 2021, primarily due to Ukrainian migrants, who have the same entitlements as citizens.

However over representation of non-Irish citizens has been present for years.
Another noticable scheme which saw a sudden increase with the influx of Ukrainian migrants was the one parent family payment. Non-Irish citizens accounted for 21% of the recipients of this payment in Q1 2023.
Next is the BWFD. It gives money to people with children who are in or take up employment or self-employment and stop claiming from other social programs such as jobseekers allowance.

In Q1 2023 non-Irish citizens made up nearly 30% of the total recipients of this scheme.
Next is the working family payment, which is a weekly tax-free payment for employees with children. It supports people who are on low pay.

In Q1 2023, non-Irish citizens also made up nearly 30% of the recipients of this scheme. This took over from the family income supp in 2018.
Child benefit is a monthly payment to the parents or guardians of children up to 17 years of age.

In Q1 2023 non-Irish citizens made up 25% of the recipients of child benefit, continuing a longstanding trend of overrepresentation.
Similarly, the overrepresentation continues with respect to maternity and paternity benefits.

There was a substantial increase in "other nationals" recipients towards the end of 2020, continuing into 2023.
One of the interesting overrepresentations was in the pandemic unemployment payment, which was taken advantage of by many.

Once again, non-Irish citizen overrepresentation. Lots of news stories about his.
Some other overrepresentations included illness benefit, jobseekers benefit and and widows non contributory pension.

For which non-Irish citizens stood at 18%, 20% and 30% of the recipients for Q1 2023, respectively.
There is a caveat here. We can't get a full picture owing to the lack of ethnic data for the Irish citizen component (think of all the passports given out to foreigners etc).

But if the trend among non-Irish citizens continues among those who obtained Irish citizenship, then the picture is probably worse than laid out here.

Imagine dumping a load of foreign men in a camp site right next door to a woman whose sister was murdered by a foreign scam artist. She begged them not to but was ignored.

That's the government.
