የመጀመሪያ ደረጃ ትምህርታቸውን በአዲስ አበባ በሚገኙ በተለያዩ የአንደኛና የሁለተኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤቶች ተከታትለዋል፡፡ በጅማ ዩኒቨርስቲ ጤና ሰይንስ ኮሌጅ የህክምና ትምህርት ቤት የሕክምና ትምህርታቸውን አጠናቀዋል፡፡ በመቀጠልም ከዚሁ ዩኒቨርስቲ በውስጥ ደዌ ሕክምና የስፔሻሊቲ ዲግሪያቸውን አግኝተዋል፡፡ የሠብ ስፔሻሊቲ ትምህርታቸውን ደግሞ በአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ Gastroenterology/ Hepatology ተምረዋል፡፡

የስራ አለም
ፕሮፌሰር ኃይለ ሚካኤል ከጅማ ዩኒቨርስቲ ትምህርታቸውን እንዳጠናቀቁ እኤ.አ ከጥር 1/2004 ጅምሮ በአየር ኃይል ሆስፒታል ለስራቸውን ጀመሩ፡፡ በመቀጠልም ቅዱስ ጳወሎስ ሆስፒታልን እኤእ 2006 ሲቀላቀሉ የውስጥ ደዌ ሕክምና ስፔሻሊስት ሆነው ነበር፡፡ በኃላም የመጀመሪያወ የኮሌጁ የትምህርት ክፍሉ ኃላፊ እና የትምህርት ክፍሉ መስራች ሆነው በGastroenterology/ Hepatology ሙያቸው ሰርተዋል፡፡ በዚህ ወቅት የትምህርት ክፍሉን በአፍሪካ ደረጃ የዓለም ኢንዶስኮፒ ድርጅት እና European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy እውቅና አግኝቶ በአፍሪካ የመጀመሪያው የስልጠና ማእከል እንዲሆን በማድረግ ይታወቃሉ፡፡
በሀገራችን በተለይ በልዩ ልዩ ችግር ፈቺ ጥናቶች ተሳትፈዋል እንዲሁም በመሪነት ሰርተዋል፡፡
በሰብ ሰሀራ አፍሪካ ደረጃ Gastroenterology ዙሪያ ትኩረቱን ባደረገው የበይነ መረብ የትምህርት መድረክ ዋና ዳየሬክተርሆነው እየሰሩ ይገኛሉ፡፡ በ Esophageal cancer in Ethiopia አለም አቀፍ ጥናት አስተባባሪ ሆነው ሰርተዋል፡፡ በዚህ የካንሰር በሽታ የሚሰቃዩ ወገኖች በሽታው በተከሰተበት አካባቢ የምርምርምር ስራዎችን በመሪነት በመምራት ላይ ይገኛሉ፡፡
በሂፒታይተስ ሲ ፡ በጉበት ካንሠር እና በተዛማጅ አለም አቀፍ ችግር ፈቺ ተግባራዊ ጥናቶች ላይ በመሪነት ተሳትፈዋል፡፡ የነዚህ ጥናቶች ውጤትም በዐለም አቀፍ ጆርናሎች ላይ ወጥቷል፡፡
በዐለም አቀፍ የጥናት እና ሙያዊ ጉባዔዎች ላይም ጥናታዊ ጽሁፍ በማቅረብም ይታወቃሉ፡፡በጠቅላላው በ28 የጥናትና ምርምር ጉባዔዎችም ላይ ስራዎቻቸውን አቅርበዋል፡፡
እኤአ 2015 በ1300 በኮሌጁ ብቻ በሚገኙ ሕሙማን የተጀመረው የሂፕታይተስ ቢ ሕክምና እኤአ 2021 በኦሮሚያ፡ በጅጅጋ እና በአፋር አገልግሎቱን አስፋፍቶ በአሁኑ ወቅት ከ7ሺኅ በላይ ህሙማን አገልግሎቱን በየጤና ጣቢያዎች የሚያገኙበት ሁኔታ ተፈጥሯል፡፡ ሕሙማኑ ነጻ መድሃኒት ፡የላቦራቶሪ ምርመራ፡ የህክምን አገልግሎት ያገኛሉ፡፡ ይህ በሆስፒታል ብቻ ይካሄድ የነበረው አገልግሎት ከመስከረም 2017 ጀምሮ አገልግሎቱ በጤና ጣቢያ ደረጃ ለመስጠት ተችሏል፡፡ በአሁኑ ወቀት ከላይ በተጠቀሱት አካባቢዎች የሚገኙ ሆስፒታሎች የቫይራል ሎድ ምርመራ የሚሰጡበት የላቦራቶሪ ተመቻችቶላቸዋል፡፡ ይህን ፕሮፌሰሩ በራሳቸው አነሳሽነት በተገኘ የኖርዌይ ድጋፍ አሁን አሁን ብዙ ህሙማንን ተጠቃሚ እያደረገ መጥቷል፡፡

SPHMMC Hosts Event to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness and Enhance Care
In I observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC) hosted a significant event aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer and improving patient care. The event featured including a community walk and an expert-led panel discussion.
The walk, which took participants from SPHMMC to Embilta, was attended by hospital staff, patient support groups, breast cancer survivors, members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), community service representatives, and invited guests from the Ministry of Health. Participants proudly wore t-shirts emblazoned with the event’s motto, symbolizing solidarity in the fight against breast cancer.
Following the walk, a panel discussion was held, where healthcare experts presented key topics, including the patterns of breast cancer observed at SPHMMC, the impact of the MDT, available resources in the hospital’s breast and endocrine surgery units, and patient support initiatives. The discussion also featured patient testimonials, highlighting the personal experiences of those affected by breast cancer.
During a subsequent Q&A session, patients raised concerns about challenges they face, including frequent stockouts of oncology medications and disruptions in services. These issues were addressed by representatives from both SPHMMC and the Ministry of Health, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to improving service delivery.
The event also highlighted the importance of maintaining breast cancer awareness and screening efforts beyond October, with a focus on integrating these practices into routine care as part of the national health guidelines.

Following the walk, a panel discussion was held, where healthcare experts presented key topics, including the patterns of breast cancer observed at SPHMMC, the impact of the MDT, available resources in the hospital’s breast and endocrine surgery units, and patient support initiatives. The discussion also featured patient testimonials, highlighting the personal experiences of those affected by breast cancer.
During a subsequent Q&A session, patients raised concerns about challenges they face, including frequent stockouts of oncology medications and disruptions in services. These issues were addressed by representatives from both SPHMMC and the Ministry of Health, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to improving service delivery.
The event also highlighted the importance of maintaining breast cancer awareness and screening efforts beyond October, with a focus on integrating these practices into routine care as part of the national health guidelines.
