Experience/advice with cutting through inner liner to access chainplates?
Hi folks, I'm looking into making my first big boat purchase. There is a Sea Sprite 23 near me that seems to be in pretty decent shape. My main concern is the current inability to access the shroud chainplates because they are behind the liner of the cabin. They feel fine, but there seems to be some rust staining where they pass through the deck.
Does anyone have experience cutting holes in the liner to get better access and visibility to the chainplates? Thanks for any advice, really appreciate it!

Faraway magical places
I randomly sailed from Long Beach to Catalina and back on a Wednesday/Thursday.
Met my friend Paul and his boat Zeke, and actually got some work done along the way!
Fun times on trimarans.

Crewing opportunities
Fellow sailing junkies - I took my first leap into entrepreneurship this year and while I’m working semi full time on my business, I’m eager to find my way back on the water. I’m not quite yet confident enough to take the step of acquiring a starter boat to earn repetitions on the water. I am hoping to get better acquainted with bluewater sailing and translating my experience from a few specific keelboats to other vessels, specifically as it pertains to mechanical systems.
My work is very volatile (some weeks I’m putting in 50-60 hrs, others I can get by with just 1-2 hrs a day) so I am curious if there are opportunities to accumulate time on boats crewing or training. I’m currently based on the east coast US but am open to moving.
