One of the benefits of having approximately 40 quadrillion things to unpack, across several rooms, is that my ADHD never has a chance to get bored.

I have had an immensely productive day. I'm about 50% unpacked at this point. There's still a lot of organizing and decorating to do, but I'll be able to roll into the work week next week with everything I need in place.

And now I'm enjoying my first thunderstorm at my house. My favorite weather.

I've been collecting matryoshka dolls for years. My favorite ones are the non-traditional thematic dolls. Like, I have a Noah's Ark doll and a snowman doll.

I don't find them very often. I've been gifted a couple, but most of my collection has been found in the wild at antique malls and things. I painted one of them myself.

I actually found 2 of them just in the last month. That's a pretty exceptional frequency.

I don't buy every doll I find. They must be in good condition. They can't be overpriced..... though if I found something really special I might be willing to splurge a little. I see dolls pretty frequently that I don't buy, mostly because of condition.

I love being eccentric. I think it's the greatest gift the universe could have given me.

I'm leaning towards painting it all white, and letting the decor speak for itself.

This room will also have to be dog friendly, because when the dogs are with me this is where they'll sleep at night.

Who doesn't love a good knick-knack?

Stopped by my favorite antique mall before my massage appointment and found a matryoshka egg! $10. Yes, I bought it.

This has been the most surreal weekend.

On Friday I loaded my life up into a truck and drove it across town.

I've spent the last 3 days mostly alone, except for the time I spent with my masseuse and the random interactions I had while out running errands.

I don't have the internet hooked up at my house yet, so no TV. It's almost been like one of my cabin retreat weekends, because I haven't accessed a whole lot of media.

Unpacking has been fun, but laborious. I'm procrastinating getting the kitchen stuff unpacked for some reason.

My studio is starting to come together. I still have a lot of organizing to do, and I'm going to rearrange all the shelving in my storage closet. That's definitely going to be a labor intensive process.

My massage was wonderful, and I took a hot bath this evening.

Tomorrow will be my first morning getting ready for work in this house. I've got the French press prepped, I've got overnight oats in the fridge. Now all I need is a good night's sleep.

Such a weird weekend.

My wishlist for matryoshka dolls is a rubber duck themed one and an Alice in Wonderland themed one. They do exist on Amazon, but I have to find them in the wild.

Back when I worked in retail, which I did for a long time, one of my favorite things to do was merchandising.

My bedroom isn't going to have a strict color palette, and it's going to look cool as hell.
