⚠️ Try to avoid “get” in writing
The clarity of a sentence will always be improved by omitting “get” or by replacing it with more suitable words.
➡️ Compare:
1)My supervisor got excited when I got some results using samples I got from Africa. However, she got angry when she got to know that I had got hold of them illegally.
2) My supervisor became excited when I obtained some results using samples from Africa. However, she grew angry when she found out that I had acquired them illegally.
These words are not necessarily the synonyms of "get" , but they explain the idea of the sentence more clearly. So, "get" should be replaced with precise word depending on the context in formal writings

Where do you live in?
🗣 I live in slap bang of city center and all those hustle and bustle of city life somehow gets on my nerves. I wish I lived in more tranquil area. You know, honks of cars, all of them sound really irritating at times. But the thing that I like about my place is its location. Many facilities are within a walking distance. So yeah, living in the heart of city got its own advantages as well.

What is your town famous for?
🗣 I have to admit that my hometown is a true tourist trap, attracting lots of holidaymakers from all around the world. It's not only famous for its local cuisine, but also deep history. I would say every street in my hometown is steeped in history, so during tourist seasons, it really gets, I mean streets of my town really gets packed like sardines. And people also quite like our local cuisine as it's mouth-watering, and most of the meals are done to a turn in local restaurants.

Is your hometown a good place for young people to live in?
🗣 Even though the infrastructure is booming in my hometown, I still have to admit that the place is not really appropriate for young people to live in. First of all, there is no pulsating nightlife, which means energetic young blood can't really find lots of places to go at night. Second of all, there aren't many educational facilities, which is why many people, young people, are seeking their degree in foreign countries. The government, however, is trying to do lots of things to attract more young people to my hometown.

Is there any tradion about naming babies?
🗣Yes, there are definitely some traditions in my country that are passed down from generation to generation when it comes to naming babies. Many people tend to choose religious names, as these often carry special meanings that are important in our faith. It’s also quite common to name babies after their ancestors as a way of honoring them and keeping their memory alive.

Does your name have special meaning?
🗣I really like my name because of its special meaning, it means a lot to me. First of all, it’s meaningful because it was given to me by my grandfather, so it always reminds me of him and the bond we shared. Secondly, the meaning of my name is quite profound. It stands for a strong man, someone with firm principles and a clear sense of integrity. I try to live up to that meaning in my daily life.

In some countries, home schooling is becoming increasingly popular.
Do the advantages of this trend outweigh the disadvantages?
Home schooling prevails in the education system of some countries. While this trend offers several advantages, it also brings notable drawbacks.
On a positive note, both parents and children can benefit from home education. For parents, it alleviates concerns about their children’s safety. Since home-schooled children do not commute to school, the risk of traffic accidents is significantly reduced. Additionally, children studying at home are less likely to experience bullying or social exclusion, which in turn eases parental worries about their children’s mental well-being. As for the children, private tutors can design a customized curriculum tailored to their individual needs and learning pace, which may accelerate academic progress. Nonetheless, the extent to which home schooling supports children’s long-term success remains open to debate.
On the negative side, children educated at home often miss opportunities to develop essential interpersonal skills. There is no doubt that traditional schools provide a valuable social environment where students can interact with peers during and beyond classroom hours. In other words, they not only exchange ideas in class but also enjoy shared leisure activities afterwards. In contrast, home-schooled children tend to lead more isolated lives due to the absence of classmates and like-minded friends. Over time, such isolation may hinder their ability to integrate into society, potentially contributing to social anxiety or other mental health issues. Considering these possible impacts on both social and professional development, I am convinced that the disadvantages of home education outweigh its benefits.
To conclude, while home schooling may offer certain advantages for both parents and children, these do not outweigh the long-term drawbacks it poses for children’s future social and career prospects.
