🌻 Advice from Ayatullah Tahriri on how to benefit best from the month of Zil Qa'dah (Part 1 of 4)
♦️ Different aspects of this month highlight its nobility and importance:
1⃣ The month begins with the birth anniversary of Lady Ma'sumah (s), whose birth was foretold by the 6th holy Imam (s) when he said: "Qom, with the presence of this noble lady, will become the haram of the Ahlul Bayt (s)."
2⃣ It is the first of the 4 haraam months in which Allah (swt) has forbidden war.
3⃣ The 25th of this month, known as dahwul ardh, (the day when the earth expanded) is an important day for which certain recommended acts have also been prescribed.
4⃣ The month of Zil Qa'dah, as well as the first 10 days of the month of Zil Hijjah are blessed days in which Allah (swt) promised Prophet Musa a meeting that would last for forty days, wherein Allah would converse with him.
5⃣ Before this (the story of Musa), during the time of prophet Ibrahim, Allah (swt) made Hajj wajib, the actions of which begin during this month. “We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights.”
6⃣ The 40 days leading up to the 10th of Zil Hijjah begin with this month.
🔹 Overall, our great scholars would pay very special attention to these 40 days due to the verse (“We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights.”) as well as various narrations talking about the number 40 [and the importance of carrying out acts for forty days], emphasising that if a person has sincerity during these days, its effects would be seen.
🔸 Of course, having sincerity is not limited to these 40 days, and the phenomenal results of sincerity would be seen any time of the year.

🌻 Advice from Ayatullah Tahriri on how to benefit best from the month of Zil Qa'dah (Part 2 of 4)
💯 The number 40 is a minimum period after which a person can be said to have acquired perseverance on a certain noble path. The advice of the shariah' is that man must acquire steadfastness and constancy with regards to good actions. And thus, with regards to constancy in worship we have been advised the following:
✏️ “Less deeds with persistence and continuity are better than a lot of worship without continuity.”
✏️ In some narrations we are told that when man decides to start performing a certain action (other than the wajib acts, which must be performed at all times without fail) it is recommended that he performs it for one whole year before its effects are seen, since in the span of one year, he will surely have the night of Qadr once, and thus he would end up performing this act during the night of Qadr.
♦️ The virtue of the number 40:
✏️ HADITH - "Whosoever acts with sincerity for Allah for 40 days, springs of wisdom will flow from his heart to his tongue."
🔰 Performing an act for 40 days is not restricted to this month and can be done throughout the year, however since this matter occurred for a prophet of Allah during this month (and Allah gave the promise of completing it for 10 more days, and in which Musa had a very special spiritual state), the great scholars specifically pay more attention to this period.
🔰 Those who are striving on the path, combatting the base desires and are men of worship, give importance to other days of the year as well, especially the months of Rajab, Sha'ban and the holy month of Ramadhan.
🔰 The late Mirza Jawad Maaliki Tabrizi mentions the following in his noble book Al-Muraqibaat:
- The first blessing that we can benefit from during this "haraam month" is that we don't stand in opposition to Allah (swt), and fight with our lowly self which always wants to fight and oppose Allah (swt). Just as war has been forbidden in this month, we should also abandon our war with Allah (swt).

🌻 Advice from Ayatullah Tahriri on how to benefit best from the month of Zil Qa'dah (Part 3 of 4)
💠 Our duty during these 40 days:
✅ The first point which is essential to keep into consideration during this month (and is the first step towards sincerity in actions) is acting on the wajibaat, and staying away from the muharamaat, as well as self-accounting (muhasibah).
✅ That which is important during these 40 days is analysing ourselves and seeing if we are really abiding by all the obligatory acts and staying away from all the forbidden acts.
✅ Our great scholars would help those who they knew to be performing their wajibaat and avoiding their muharmaat with added recommended actions and other beneficial instructions that would help purify that souls, so that these individuals greater pay attention to the ethical vices [and strive to get rid of them].
✅ This 40 days is an exercise to ensure evil traits such as jealousy, arrogance are not manifested, as well as an exercise to practice and bring consistency in good actions.
✅ Another matter is to stay away from sinners and people that have ghaflah (those who are heedless and do not pay attention to religion).
⚠️ Certain people who have sufi tendencies claim that in these 40 days one should sit in the treasure-trove of his house and cut all relations with the outer world, having nothing to do with community affairs, whilst this is not something that the noble shariah has prescribed! If I don't have any relation with others, how will my nafs manifest itself? I have to perform the normal and needed daily routine actions so that it can become clear for me how much attention I give to ensure that all my actions are according to the shariah of islam.

💯 That which has been given attention to in the shariah is that through strengthening my faith, my commitment to following the shariah will be strengthened, and the first and most important issue is that I should act according to that which is Wajib and avoid that which is Haram.
⚠️ Our scholars would say:
If man performs even just one sin, he would be thrown off.
💠 Two last points:
❇️ Being steadfast during these 40 days is very beneficial and has many results, however it is important to carefully consider what actions we should perform during these 40 days.
❇️ We should also be careful about whom we interact with [i.e. which scholars are we in contact with] and who is giving us instructions other than those given to us by the shariah.
💠 Another instruction given to us for this month is the prayer of forgiveness, which has been reported by the Holy Prophet (s) for every Sunday of this month. 🌻 Spiritual Advices from Ayatullah Tahriri for entering into the Month of Zilhajj and making the most of this month:
💯 Regarding the importance of the first ten days of the month of Zil-Hijjah, a tradition has been narrated from the Prophet of Allah, according to which there are no days in which good deeds and worship are more loved by Allah as they are in these ten days.
🔰 The acts of worship specific for these ten days are as follows:
1⃣ Fasting for the first nine days, which has the reward of fasting for one’s entire lifetime.
2⃣ Performing the special prayer* for these ten days between Maghrib and Isha prayers.
3⃣ Reciting the specific supplications* for these days.
4⃣ Reciting the tahlīlāt every day.
( لاَ إلہَ إلاَّ اﷲُ عَدَدَ اللَّیالِی وَالدُّھُورِ ... )*
5⃣ Giving importance to and performing the acts of worship on the night and day of Arafah, specially reciting Dua al-Arafah after Zuhr time on that day.

🏴🏴 Advice from Ayatullah Tahriri regarding Muharram and Azadari (1 of 2)
🗓 We are approaching the holy month of Muḥarram, the month that marks a time of grief and sorrow for the pure family, the Ahlul-Bayt. The month that marks a time of grief and sorrow for the entire world. In this month the world mourns the loss of the son of the Messenger of Allah (s), Imam al-Ḥusayn (a). It is a month in which Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) revived the religion of his grandfather.
🏅 Muharram is a reminder of the true path of man. It shows us what lofty perfections and spiritual ranks man can reach by following the luminous path of the Ahlul-Bayt. Man can ascend to the elevated level of "maqam al-mahmud" which is the level of wilāyah of Allah.
💯 The month of Muḥarram is a month of achieving spiritual perfections and taking an example from this great personality in the history of mankind, the one who exemplified all the virtues of his grandfather the Messenger of Allah's religion.
⚖ It is a month of paying attention to the front lines of the army of falsehood that has assembled itself against the army of truth. It is a month of remembering that these two armies will always be there in this world.
⭐️ We, the followers of the Ahlul-Bayt, are proud that we have the wilāyah and love of this family. The sīrah of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) such as the actions he carried out, what he abstained from, and what he said as well as that of his companions, the Bani Hashim, and the prisoners of Karbala should always be a role model for us. As a result of their example, there is no more excuse for the servants of Allah (to not follow their path).
🌐 This month is a month of struggle against the ṭāghūt (illegitimate forms of authority that are not sanctioned by Allah). It is a month of breaking free from the yoke of oppression imposed by the system of the ṭāghūt.
✅ Our Islamic Revolution is a manifestation of Karbalā and the revolution of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a). Our Islamic nation learnt many lessons from 'Āshura. That noble leader (Imam Khomeini) benefited from the sīrah and the words of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) in order to bring about this revolution. As a result of the revolution, a special gift of Allah was given to us, the ummah of Islam.
⚠️ We must pay attention to the fact that the enemies are always trying to distance us from the teachings of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) in different ways. We must be smart and recognize these plots of the enemy, recognize those actions that would result in us being far from the true path of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a).
✔️ The true path of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) is that of understanding his teachings, implementing his commands, and being adorned with his qualities. The true path of his is that of the sovereignty of the religion of Allah that can be realized in his wilāyah and the wilāyah of the faqīh (Islamic jurist).

🏅 Muharram is a reminder of the true path of man. It shows us what lofty perfections and spiritual ranks man can reach by following the luminous path of the Ahlul-Bayt. Man can ascend to the elevated level of "maqam al-mahmud" which is the level of wilāyah of Allah.
💯 The month of Muḥarram is a month of achieving spiritual perfections and taking an example from this great personality in the history of mankind, the one who exemplified all the virtues of his grandfather the Messenger of Allah's religion.
⚖ It is a month of paying attention to the front lines of the army of falsehood that has assembled itself against the army of truth. It is a month of remembering that these two armies will always be there in this world.
⭐️ We, the followers of the Ahlul-Bayt, are proud that we have the wilāyah and love of this family. The sīrah of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) such as the actions he carried out, what he abstained from, and what he said as well as that of his companions, the Bani Hashim, and the prisoners of Karbala should always be a role model for us. As a result of their example, there is no more excuse for the servants of Allah (to not follow their path).
🌐 This month is a month of struggle against the ṭāghūt (illegitimate forms of authority that are not sanctioned by Allah). It is a month of breaking free from the yoke of oppression imposed by the system of the ṭāghūt.
✅ Our Islamic Revolution is a manifestation of Karbalā and the revolution of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a). Our Islamic nation learnt many lessons from 'Āshura. That noble leader (Imam Khomeini) benefited from the sīrah and the words of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) in order to bring about this revolution. As a result of the revolution, a special gift of Allah was given to us, the ummah of Islam.
⚠️ We must pay attention to the fact that the enemies are always trying to distance us from the teachings of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) in different ways. We must be smart and recognize these plots of the enemy, recognize those actions that would result in us being far from the true path of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a).
✔️ The true path of Imam al-Ḥusayn (a) is that of understanding his teachings, implementing his commands, and being adorned with his qualities. The true path of his is that of the sovereignty of the religion of Allah that can be realized in his wilāyah and the wilāyah of the faqīh (Islamic jurist).
