المحاضرة الحادية عشر

• Lesson 11 Daawa

• One of the kings of this dunia came to you and said: “I will guarantee to you that if anything happens to you, you’re not going to have any fears or worries and you’re not going to be sad about it

• يقولُ الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿إِنَّ الَّذينَ قالوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ استَقاموا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيهِمُ المَلائِكَةُ أَلّا تَخافوا وَلا تَحزَنوا وَأَبشِروا بِالجَنَّةِ الَّتي كُنتُم توعَدونَ (30) نَحنُ أَولِياؤُكُم فِي الحَياةِ الدُّنيا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ وَلَكُم فيها ما تَشتَهي أَنفُسُكُم وَلَكُم فيها ما تَدَّعونَ (31) نُزُلًا مِن غَفورٍ رَحيمٍ (32)﴾ [Fuṣṣilat: 30, 31, 32] Allah SWT says in this ayah:إِنَّ الَّذينَ قالوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ“The ones who are going to say Allah is our lord

• ” Now you’re saying it with your tongue: “Allah is my Lord, Allah is my God,” but then He said:ثُمَّ استَقاموا“Then they are in the straight path to Allah عز وجل

• That’s sustained, but when you do that what’s going to happen? Here we go, the guarantee is coming:-1تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيهِمُ المَلائِكَةُ “The Angels will come down,” saying to these people:-2أَلّا تَخافوا وَلا تَحزَنوا “You should not have any fear and you should not be sad or worried,” and on top of that:-3وَأَبشِروا بِالجَنَّةِ الَّتي كُنتُم توعَدونَ They are going to give you the good news about the Jannah, the paradise

• -نَحنُ أَولِياؤُكُم فِي الحَياةِ الدُّنيا “We are the ones who are going to protect you in this dunia and in the hereafter

• So, the first guarantee here if you say: “Allah is my Lord” meaning you live on Islam and you live for Al Da’wa

• Some of the scholars said that the الملائكة (angels) will come down in the most difficult time and when you need them; and that is the time of death in which you will be very worried; “What is going to happen to me?” They will come and will give you the great news

• يقولُ الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿إِنَّ الَّذينَ قالوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ استَقاموا فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-Aḥqāf: 13]“The one who is going to say Allah is our Lord,” in a different ayah, same thing: “They stick on that road, there is no fear, no sadness, no worries

• ” ‏ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿أَلا إِنَّ أَولِياءَ اللَّهِ لا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Yūnus: 62]“The أولياء (pious worshippers) of Allah should not be in the position of fear or sadness”, no matter what news comes in your way

• But that’s between you and Allah, so don’t be deceived with people coming and telling you: “Hey! This is a waliy of Awliya Allah! He’s walking on the water, and he is doing this and that, and people dance around him so he’s a waliy right now

• ‏ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿ فَمَنِ اتَّقى وَأَصلَحَ فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-A‘rāf: 35]“The one who’s going to fear Allah Almighty,” and on top of thatقَوْلٌ وَعَمَلyou say it by your tongue but you do actions too

• فَمَن اتَّقى“The one who’s going to have fear of Allah عزوجل”وَأَصْلَحْ“And do good”فَلا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنون“Shouldn’t have any fear or sadness

• ”﴿ فَمَن آمَنَ وَأَصلَحَ فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-An‘ām: 48]Allah SWT also said: “The one who’s going to believe and do good actions should not be in any fear or worry

• ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿الَّذينَ يُنفِقونَ أَموالَهُم بِاللَّيلِ وَالنَّهارِ سِرًّا وَعَلانِيَةً فَلَهُم أَجرُهُم عِندَ رَبِّهِم وَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾[Al-Baqarah: 274] “The one among us who spend their money at night and at the day time, in secret and in front of everybody to motivate others,” What’s the guarantee here? Allah says:فَلَهُم أَجرُهُم عِندَ رَبِّهِم“They have their reward in the side of Allah,” Which we don’t even know; a great reward that has not been mentioned

• وَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ“Also, there is no fear or sadness

• ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿الَّذينَ يُنفِقونَ أَموالَهُم في سَبيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ لا يُتبِعونَ ما أَنفَقوا مَنًّا وَلا أَذًى لَهُم أَجرُهُم عِندَ رَبِّهِم وَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 262]The same thing: “The ones who spends the money for the sake of Allah Almighty and they are not going to follow this with arrogance or showing off,”لا خوفٌ عليهمthey have the reward of Allah عز وجل, and also there is no fear on their end

• ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿بَلى مَن أَسلَمَ وَجهَهُ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحسِنٌ فَلَهُ أَجرُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ وَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 112]The one who’s أَسلَمَ وَجهَهُ, literally: “The one who’s going to give his face to Allah عز وجل,” meaning your whole life, your heart, your body, and everything is towards Allah Almighty and you follow what Allah asks you to follow

• فَلَهُ أَجرُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ وَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ“He’s going to get his reward in the side of Allah Almighty and also there is no fear or sadness in their life

• ” ويقول الحقّ سبحانه وتعالى:﴿ فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدايَ فَلا خَوفٌ عَلَيهِم وَلا هُم يَحزَنونَ﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 38]“And the ones who is going to follow my guidance there is no خوف, fear nor sadness

• ” So, if we understand that in the way to Allah عز وجل,في طريق الدّعوة إلى الله عزّ وَجَلّwe are going to face a lot of challenges and a lot of us can drop, you hear this word from a lot of people: “Why me? Why is this happening to me?”But, we can always say: “Oh! You know if anything happened, I trust Allah عز وجل and it is my destiny

• “And you know, whatever is going to happen to us is going to happen to us and I trust Allah’s choice for me

• So, we ask Allah SWT that in the way to Him, living in Islam and believing that this is our way,الدّعوة إلى الله عزّ وَجَلّto prepare and to steadfast on this road and not to drop or look back or complain that we need to understand and reflect on these several ayahs that we mentioned today from the Quran, that Allah عز وجل (the Almighty), not anybody else, is giving us a promise that we will live in this dunia with no fear or sadness.

2.Who is giving us a promise that we will live in this dunia with no fear or sadness?

3.What would happen if you follow what Allah asks you to follow?

إن الحمد لله، نحمده ونستعينه ونستهديه ونستغفره، ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا.من يهده الله فلا مضل له، ومن يضلل فلا هادي له، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له وأشهد أن محمدًا عبده و رسوله.أما بعد.. 
فإن أصدق الحديث كلام الله، وخير الهدي هدي محمد ﷺ، وشر الأمور محدثاتها ، وكل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وكل ضلالة في النار.
All thanks and praise due to Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى).
We seek refuge with Allah from our bad deed and bad actions.
The one whom Allah guides, no one will misguide ; and the one who is misguided, no one will guide.
And I bear witness there is no one worth of worshipping but Allah (سبحانه وتعالى)
and I bear witness that Muhammad
(ﷺ)
is His Messenger and slave.
Indeed, the best of speeches is the speech of the Qur’an, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad
(ﷺ).
The worst of the matters in our religion is the innovation; each innovation can be a misguide, and each  (والعياذ بالله) . misguide can lead us to the hellfire
 
اللهم لك الحمد كما ينبغي لجلال وجهك وعظيم سلطانك.

We will continue
(في طريق الدعوة الإسلامية، الدعوة إلى الله عز وجل).
 
And this Ayah if we really reflect on word-by-word,
(سبحان الله)
there is nothing but peace of mind and calmness for our hearts. We will continue what we talked about in the last session, about when we face tests and challenges in the way to Allah
(عز وجل).
? How can we react to it?
And this Ayah
(سبحان الله)
Allah Azza wa Jall says:
 
🌷{قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ}
We think about this Ayah
'قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا'
Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
is telling Muhammad
(ﷺ)
: to tell us
 
{لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا}
 
Nothing is going to happen to us except what Allah
(عز وجل)
wrote for us; and indeed, He is our (Mawla), He is our Protector.
And if we are going to put our dependence on anybody, it will be
only on Allah
(عز وجل).
 
So, if we reflect on this Ayah, we will see that
(هي سبب الطمأنينة).
This Ayah, as I said, will calm everybody's heart,
especially, again, in difficulty and when we face tests, when it comes on the way to Allah
(عز وجل).
Let's stop at
كلمة " الله" (عز وجل)
in this ayah, and you know who (Allah) is
(عز وجل).
We are not talking about a king, we are not talking about a president, we are not talking about a judge, we are not talking about a police officer, we are not talking about anybody in this
دنيا
You cannot even compare.
So, when you stand in front of anybody and you think that your destiny is based on what they are going to say, It is wrong. It is wrong because in this Ayah Allah
(عز وجل)
says:
"الله"
الله الحكيم Allah Al-Hakim,
the Most Wise,
Allah
(عز وجل)
when anything happens around us because Allah
(عز وجل)
is
(الحكيم )  =  The Wise
 
(العدل)       = The Just
 
(الرحيم)    = The Merciful
 
 
And on and on with the names of Allah (عز وجل).
{كَتَبَ} =
He wrote
(عز وجل).
When you know that everything Allah
(عز وجل)
decreed on us has
and wrote before the creation of the sky, seven heavens, and the earth fifty thousand years before. Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
wrote everything; so , when you just reflect on that (Allah,
[الحكيم العليم]،
The Most Known wrote fifty thousand years before the creation of everything, before the heaven and the earth,
whatever happens in your way, and what you can be like, it has already been written down.
{لَنَا}
When He says
{قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا}
This word
(لَنَا)=
((to us
This word reminds me with the hadith
عن صُهَيْبِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ: "عَجَباً لأمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ، وَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لأِحَدٍ إِلاَّ للْمُؤْمِن: إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ فَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ فَكَانَ خيْراً لَهُ."
(عَجَباً لأمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ)
Strange is the situation of the believer.
 
(إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ،)
Any situation that happens to the believer is good.
 
(وَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لأِحَدٍ إِلاَّ للْمُؤْمِن)

And that nobody will have this kind of reaction except for the believer.
 
(إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ فَكَانَ خَيْراً لَهُ،)
When something good happens, then he is going to thank Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى),
and this is good for him, for the believer.
 
(وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ فَكَانَ خيْراً لَهُ)
And if something such as (tests come, a calamity comes), and he will be patient about it, then this is also good for him.
 
And another hadith, ( a part of a hadith):
(أنَّ ما أصابَك لم يكُنْ لِيُخْطِئَك    ، وما أخطَأَك لم يكُنْ لِيُصيبَك)
 
Whatever is coming in your way is not going to miss you, and whatever is going to miss you is not going to come in your way.
سبحان الله.
When you really think deeply about it, you say: Yes, I know nothing is going to happen to us except what Allah
(عز وجل)
wrote for us fifty thousand years ago.
 
And based on this hadith, Rasoul Allah
(ﷺ)
said the believer is thankful and is patient for anything that happens in his life.
So, if something is coming on my way is not going to miss me , and if something is going to miss me is not going to hit me.
It will give you a great way to continue. And what is the bigger picture? What is your bigger goal? It is to satisfy Allah
(عز وجل).
 
فالدعوة إلى الله عز وجل
has much higher level, and things will come on the way to slow you down. Or even take you away from the way. The Shaitan (Satan himself) and the human devils,
(شياطين الإنس والجن)
The devils of the humans and the jinn will not going to leave you; your own
(نفس)
your own self, they will fight
you when you are on this way.
 
So, what is going to make you stay on this way?
(الدعوة إلى الله عز وجل)
 
It is when you remember this Ayah and the meaning of this Ayah. The Ayah says:
{هُوَ مَوْلَانَا ۚ } =
He is your Protector
(سبحانه وتعالى).
 
So, you know for fact, if Allah is your
(ولي),
Allah is going to protect you, then who else you are going to seek help from other than Allah
(عز وجل).
 
Knowing that in the other Ayah of Surat Al-Baqara’a, Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
Said:
🌷{اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ ۖ }
 
Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
ولي
He is The Protector of the believers; He takes them from the darkness of everything to the light of Allah
(عز وجل)
His Islam]. ] and
And at the end of the Ayah Allah s (سبحانه وتعالى)
said:
🌷{وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ
الْمُؤْمِنُونَ}
 
And indeed, if you understand the whole Ayah, you will know in the end who you are going to depend on, Allah
(عز وجل)
Nobody else.
 
So, we have to understand, we do not let the means of the thing goes. Right.
الأخذ بالأسباب ،
دائما التوكل على الله ثم الأخذ بالأسباب..
Here is the difference.
Sometimes people take all the means and everything else which….
Islam does not stop us from taking all the means (reasons) and everything else.
 
When Rasoul Allah
(ﷺ)
left Makkah to Madinah, he took all the means that he can; he asked Abu-Bakr to bring the camels, he had the camels prepared, he got the person who knew about the road to show them the way to get there, he planned the way in which they could deceive the people of Quraysh so that they could not follow them, and had somebody else to conceal their trace so the people could not follow them.
 
This is taking the means (or taking the reasons), but before that is
التوكل على الله عز وجل
You put your dependence on Allah
(عز وجل).
 
We are living a time right now with this virus (COVID).
It changed the world.
So, when you think about the year of 2020 – what does this year mean to you? Think about it. Is it a good year?
(عَجَباً لأمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ)
Strange is the situation of the believer. (the hadith we have just read).
Yes, definitely it is a good year. Why?
 
Think about it, think about it.
(سبحان الله)
The whole world shut down, a lot of sins and a lot of things that were happening daily stopped, night clubs closed down. And places where people used to commit things that would anger Allah
(عز وجل)

were shut down; sins committed day and night stopped ;liquors' stores closed, and travelling from a place to another for people who followed their own desires and did the Haram things stopped.
 
As if Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
gave each one of us a chance to reflect.
Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
stopped everything around us for you just to sit down and say
What am I doing here? Who am I?  What is going on? You understand?
So, this is a reflection of something happened.
So, as Muslims, we look at it as good in spite of all that is happening, and all the fears that they put in everybody’s mind.
 
Sometimes I think about it and say (سبحان الله).
How are the people who are not Muslims handling in these things?
Because the only way to get through these things is Islam and believe in Allah to
(عز وجل).
So, when people think about what is happening like(wow), ask yourself: What
am I going to do? Oh, put the mask on, put this, clean your hands every few seconds, do this and this and that..
 
Some people put all their trust on these means and then
in the end maybe
remember Allah:
((Oh, Allah ! We are going to depend on Allah.)
No, it is the other way around.
You put your full trust, your full (توكل)
on Allah
(عز وجل)
That is number one. Right.
Full, full, 100%, on Allah
(عز وجل).
You know for fact (as we mentioned in this hadith, that Allah wrote everything fifty thousand years ago)
whatever is going to happen to you is going to happen to you; that does not mean I am going to just, you know, throw myself into danger. No. I will put my
(توكل)
on Allah, I will trust Allah
(عز وجل)
and then I will take the means: (Something like: I must wear a mask to protect myself and others). Yes, with all means l will do it; that is after
التوكل
on Allah.
I can put it and I still get sick; and we hear people can be living under the same roof. Right. Some of them get sick and some others do not get sick.
Some, you know, this is..
and by the end of the day the time will come and there is a time, there is a place, there is a way, we are going to exit this
دنيا
We are going to die, we do not know how, we do not know where, we do not know when.
 
So, when it is happening, it is going to happen.
(سبحان الله).
We have no control; we just must prepare for it.
As somebody came to ask Rasoul Allah
(ﷺ)
"When is the Day of  Judgment?  When is it going to be? , Rasoul Allah
(ﷺ)
for it? said: What did you prepare
That is the real question: What have we prepared for it?
So, when something like this happens, it does not just touch individuals; each one can have their own test, but that was a test for everybody. Right.
When something like that happen, how can we reflect? How can we benefit? How can we move for it?
 
So, in the way to Allah
(عز وجل)
and this type of calamity comes in,
we put our trust in Allah
(عز وجل).
We know for fact Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
He is in control of everything; so we put our
توكل
on Allah
(عز وجل) .
And, then we take all the means and whatever can help us to keep it going in that role.
 
So, as we have been mentioning in each session, to remind one another, that on the way to Allah
(عز وجل)
There will be tests, there will be challenges coming on the way, and we need all the help that we can to keep us focused on that way. And the help comes only from Allah
(عز وجل).
 
But when we look at the Ayat, and when we look at some reflections of the Qur’an and the Ahadith from the Sunnah, we will realize that Allah
(إن شاء الله)
will be our
[ولي].
Allah will be our Protector; so we must put our
توكل
and our trust only on Allah
(عز وجل).
And that is what is going to keep us going
في طريق الدعوة الإسلامية.

We ask Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى )
to benefit us from what we heard, and to make us among the ones who listen, and put what we learn into action.
ونسأل الله العافية.
We ask Allah
(سبحانه وتعالى)
to protect all of us.
