AXIOS❗️: The Agriculture Department says it can't use contingency funds to pay for food stamps during the government shutdown — and that states won't be reimbursed if they cover the expenses on their own, according to a new memo obtained by Axios.

Starting next month, about 42 million low-income people won't get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if Congress doesn't agree to a deal to fund and reopen government.

Now in its 24th day, the shutdown threatens to take a real toll not just on federal workers who are going without paychecks, but also many of the nation's neediest citizens.

🔥🤪 The REEE will be strong with this one:

President Donald Trump will likely name his new $300 million ballroom after himself, according to senior administration officials.

Already, officials are referring to it as "The President Donald J. Trump Ballroom." That name will likely stick, ABC News was told.

The President has not publicly said what he intends to name the ballroom, but he is known for branding his construction projects after himself -- and it appears this project will be no different.

When asked by ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce on Thursday if he has a name for his ballroom yet, Trump smiled and said: "I won't get into that now."

Stephen Miller says that the Trump administration will arrest governors, state officials, local officials and anyone else operating in an official capacity who impedes federal law enforcement from doing their jobs 💥

“If you engage in a criminal conspiracy to obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws, or to unlawfully order your own police officers or your own officials to try to interfere with ICE officers… You’re engaged in criminal activity…

Then as you get up the scale of behavior, you obviously get into seditious conspiracy charges, depending on the conduct, and many other offenses…

And the DOJ has made clear that if officials cross that line into obstruction, into criminal conspiracy against the United States or against ICE officers, then they will face justice.”

In other words, if you F around then you will find out.

Can’t let the baby killing come to an end😒: Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul and California Governor Gavin Newsom said that they would fund reproductive healthcare provider Planned Parenthood amid federal cuts from the Medicaid insurance program.

The Republican-led Congress' spending bill enacted over the summer denied funds from the joint federal-state program to certain tax-exempt organizations and their affiliates, such as Planned Parenthood, if they continued to provide abortions.

The move was challenged by Planned Parenthood but ultimately upheld by a federal appeals court last month.

In light of the cuts, Hochul on Friday said New York would fully cover one year of missing Medicaid funds for Planned Parenthood in the state, providing more than $35 million. Newsom on Thursday said that California would invest more than $140 million to support access to the reproductive health provider.

NEW: Congress wants answers from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on the investigation into gambling and game-fixing that has cast a shadow over the league.

The House Committee on Commerce, which has jurisdiction over sports, asked Friday for a briefing from Silver on what led to the arrest of Portland Trail Blazer’s Coach Chauncey Billups and Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier, according to the letter.

The House committee asked Silver to brief members on whether the NBA’s code of conduct explicitly prohibits the activity alleged in the indictments and whether the league will reassess its relationships with the sports betting.

They also want to ask Silver about actions the league will take to limit the “disclosure of nonpublic information for illegal purposes.”

The committee cited Silver’s past comments on ESPN’s “Pat McAfee Show” in which he called for enhanced regulation on sports gambling.

POLITICO‼️: Top U.S. and Russia envoys plan to meet in Miami on Saturday, despite talks having taken a downward turn this week.

Kirill Dmitriev, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special presidential representative for investment and economic cooperation, is flying to Florida to meet with Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, a White House official confirmed to POLITICO.

“Arrived in the U.S. to continue the U.S.–Russia dialogue — visit planned a while ago based on an invitation from the U.S. side,” Dmitriev wrote on X. “Such dialogue is vital for the world and must continue with the full understanding of Russia’s position and respect for its national interests.”

Until recently, Witkoff has taken the lead in executing Trump’s agenda with Russia. He has met with Putin inside the Kremlin multiple times and Russia is known to favor engaging with him over others.

The distribution deal between Disney and YouTube TV expires on Oct. 30, and ESPN and other channels could leave the streaming service if a new deal isn’t reached.

Disney started running warning messages for consumers on YouTube TV on Thursday, explaining what content would leave YouTube TV if a new agreement is not reached, according to CNBC.

The main sticking point between the two parties is the rates the Google-owned streaming service pays to host Disney-owned channels like ESPN and ABC.

A YouTube TV spokesperson said that “Disney is proposing costly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers and give our customers fewer choices, while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products — like Hulu + Live TV and, soon, Fubo,” according to CNBC.

WATCH: War Secretary Hegseth Addresses Leaked Memo on National Guard Response Force, Confirms Readiness to Deploy “When Necessary”

During a roundtable on the Trump Administration’s fight against drug cartels, War Secretary Pete Hegseth discussed the Department of War’s efforts to curb cartel influence. The Gateway Pundit questioned him about a leaked memo circulating online, outlining a National Guard Response Force to be trained in crowd control and civil unrest, ready for deployment across all U.S. states and territories by April 2026.

Hegseth declined to comment on “something that may be in the planning process,” but emphasized the administration’s readiness to use “multiple layers of National Guard response forces” under Title 10 and Title 32 laws for federal and state active duty, respectively.

“We’ve got a lot of different ways that, constitutionally and legally, we can employ Title 10 and Title 32 forces, and we will do so when necessary,” Hegseth said.

NEW🚨: Attorneys for the man accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk are asking a Utah judge to allow him to appear in civilian clothing and without restraints at all court proceedings, arguing that heavy media coverage and public commentary have already threatened his right to a fair trial.

In a 20-page filing submitted Oct. 22, Tyler Robinson’s legal team says the case has become a "content tornado," describing it as a social-media storm of commentary, speculation and viral videos that make any new images of the defendant in jail attire potentially devastating to the future jury pool.

Fox News has confirmed that Judge Tony Graf granted the state and Utah County Sheriff’s motion to classify their response as "private," meaning the public cannot access the state’s reply to Robinson’s motion through the court’s docket.

Prosecutors said their filing includes information from the court’s security director, Chris Palmer, outlining specific courthouse security measures in Robinson’s case.
