Mineral Resource Base of mordor: the real situation

Even before the strikes on oil refineries, mordor was already experiencing a systemic crisis in its mineral resource base. Exploration of deposits in recent years has decreased tenfold, with underfunding of geological exploration works reaching 61–94 billion rubles. To restore the situation, at least 160 billion rubles per year is required — but such funds do not exist. Meanwhile, raw materials account for 54.6% of mordor’s exports, and with processing included — nearly 88%.

The country is critically dependent on imports of a number of key metals — lithium, copper, rare earths, tantalum, cobalt. For some of these positions, the dependence is 100%.

After Ukrainian UAV strikes on refineries, the situation became even more complicated: oil processing dropped by 15–20%, exports decreased by 300,000 barrels per day, and foreign currency revenues and logistics are rapidly declining. A vivid example is the Astrakhan gas processing plant of Gazprom, which after the drone attack was forced to stop fuel production. In mordor they attempt to justify it, claiming: “we shut down early to avoid emissions and damage.”

However, the consequences are tangible: the gasoline shortage is only worsening — it is either completely unavailable or becoming extremely expensive. Against this backdrop, even the Communist Party staged a public protest, asking why oil is getting cheaper while gasoline is getting more expensive. Indeed, a paradox — “nothing really happened,” right?
