In the hustle and bustle of last days we missed the exiting news about the extension of #Geoalert #Team.
The map on our website has been updated accordingly. 😁 🤟

#opendata #uzbekistan

Our new data validation service for Mapflow.ai is gonna be released soon.
It aims to help our users in testing of their data against the platform requirements given the specific AI model.
Sometimes it comes to such fancy images that users try to extract mapping data from using the Mapflow. Just to share few of examples to give you an idea of how it's interesting to work at our user support service –
BTW we are looking for QA / support engineer. 😉

Not a rocket but useful and nice new feature. As soon as more models available – it might be better to customize your #Mapflow dashboard by the project type. Select one or more models while starting the new Project to organize your data, customize colors and icons.
Let us know what you think!

Earth Observation satellites are also equipped with the sensors for Near and Short Infrared which allows to reveal many hidden features on the Earth surface or penetrate through the haze and smoke.
But before now nobody could imagine how Space infrared images from the new Telescope look like - it's absolutely astonishing and majestic.
The new Space sensor is appeared to be very powerful, the article reads that "Webb will allow astronomers to dig into many more specifics about planetary nebulae like this one".
You will find more articles and images taken by the Telescope there.

We have released the #Mapflow data validator. Now users can see the detailed description in case of the failed processing ⛔️.
You can find the whole list of error codes / descriptions in our documentation.
Cool stuff by #Kontur. They are developing the new model for estimation of losses caused by natural disasters.
"The highest accuracy score was achieved for estimating tornadoes’ monetary loss due to the greater number of events and their narrower spatial spread."

The #Mapflow data validator has been updated - it checks the area of the processing against the availability of imagery source. If your area doesn't intersect with the image source or the image resolution doesn't correspond with the model's requirements - you won't be able to run the processing using this model. 👌
We are getting more requests about buying credits for #Mapflow. Our previous online payment system has become unavailable for international payments, that's why we look for and move to another one and it takes a while.
In the meantime Mapflow users can buy credits paying by invoice or reach out to us and we will find the way.
For those who are ready to switch to one of subscription plans we have them more to come, including the use of commercial satellite data by the leading data providers.

Hotspot anomalies (#fires) and the smoke plumes in the area of Enerhodar where the Zaporizhzhia NPP is (AUG 23). The nuclear plant is disconnected from power grid after nearby fires. ⚠️
#Kontur map shows the huge areas affected by #floods in India. The map also helps to draw the attention to the blanks and gaps in the #Openstreetmap coverage against the affected areas.
Read our first longread 🙈 vision about building the #SaaS product in the market of Earth Observation analytics.

Some thoughts to highlight:

> If you build some SaaS product to automate the analysis you have to be cautious about your market positioning as long as the Data providers rule the game

> SaaS highly depends on the Data as a service model and both contribute significantly to the market development by increasing the data consumption and engaging more analysts to start using EO data

> Remember video and music subscriptions on demand? You can stream movies but you cannot download’em…

> What proves them to be SaaS companies — one can start playing around with the product as long as he has an account registered

> Look, when Mark from Descartes Labs is regretting the way they wouldn’t but could be the “modern AI consulting” company — he is talking about large customized enterprise solutions, isn’t he?

> In our case, it means that Mapflow has two revenue streams: Subscriptions and Tailored Projects (services)

> Developing this market through the services is a lengthy road, so the innovators should beware of the long-term commitment to create an impact and turn the ideas into commercial reality. Building a SaaS / B2B product looks like a viable and reasonable strategy here

> As they used to say in Openstreetmap — “The map is never complete”. Not only because of the blanks or incompleteness of the map features. There are changes that go all over the World. And having them timely detected and interpreted in the way of location intelligence is the Map no one can complete but everyone in the community can contribute to

We took it forward to test #Mapflow on the imagery samples from Chinese satellites provided by #HEAD Aerospace Group. Although there is some difference in the smaller details visible in the images if compared to the highest resolution (#EarthScanner: 0.5 PAN, 2 MS vs #WorldView-3: 0.3 PAN, 1.25 MS) - the #buildings_detection algorithm works perfectly well.
It outlines building rooftops and predicts building heights by automatic estimation of the length of the building shadow. We will share more details on further experiments with this new prominent source of imagery.
