Classes start next week and here is a very useful resource, developed by GSB students @hsefoodguide_bot. It shows you all cafeterias, cafes, fast food places and restaurants near HSE University campuses. We tried it and it rocks! The development of the app was supported financially during the Spring round of student-run projects. The Fall round is currently on. If you have the ideas - do not hesitate to apply for financial support https://gsb.hse.ru/projectscompetition
Time flies and MIM students completed the first course in the program! It was a challenging, but also a very rewarding start of the program.
«Any economic decision in this globally connected world is a risky one – says Prof. Akoz Kemal Kivanc, who’s been teaching this course in MIM’s inaugural year. – Economics, as a science, may not perfectly predict the future and eliminate the risks, but does provide a solid conceptual framework to understand some of the key components of the dynamics of the global economy. The course 'International Economics' aims to introduce the basic tools that have been developed in Economic theory.” Prof. Kivanc admits that the course brought him a very positive, invaluable experience: “During the lectures, we discussed various economic models and their real-life implications along with their limitations within the context of international trade and macroeconomics. It is a privilege to do these discussions with the energetic, sharp, and diverse group of students of the MIM program in HSE». Congrats with the achievement!
It’s a Rainy Sunday in Moscow and if you were looking for an excuse to stay under the blanket with a cup of a warm tea - here it is. The first non-conventional webinar, where our faculty member is being challenged by a professional journalist and a MIM student https://youtu.be/Evq333g6S1k Starring Dr. Ekaterina Ivanova, Marina Dzhashi & Sanjar Khankel

An interesting and thought-provoking review of Big Ideas 2021 by LinkedIn: «Every December, LinkedIn editors ask our community of Influencers, Top Voices and frequent contributors to share the Big Ideas they believe will define the year ahead. This year, in the shadow of a once-in-a-century pandemic, we offer a selection of predictions and thoughts on where we go from here — at work, at home and everywhere in between». https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/24-big-ideas-change-our-world-2021-scott-olster/?trackingId=K2nK1wwCR4G2b1WZpjfpZQ%3D%3D
Happy Students Day, everybody! In 1885, Checkov wrote about Tatiana Day, "This year everything was drunk, except the water from the Moscow river, and only because it was frozen". The day begins with a traditional service conducted at the University's church followed by speeches and the awarding of prizes. Later in the day, many students host or attend parties and public events.
Program’s ambassadors are organizing an online information session about the program. February, 2, 19.30 Moscow time, online.
Snowy, frosty and sunny days are a perfect to wear white! MIM crew working on a production of a program’s video 📼 Can’t wait to see the results!
Happy International Women's Day!
While women tend to be much less vocal, as research shows https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2021/02/18/men-interrupt-women-tokyo-olympics/?fbclid=IwAR2fbjqI29qP0npSVGHbMH-fd1gXcVrBmbKusN5I4Gx8-i3MmxGK8zNHCmM, this is not in the way for some of them to successfully move up the career ladder and in business https://fortune.com/most-powerful-women/2020/
We are proud to have the brightest women in our program and can't wait to see them in the news, talking about what they do to make the world the better place! #MIM #Internationalmanagement #management #women #success
