I reintroduced the Equal Access to Green Cards for Legal Employment Act with Sen. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., to make it easier for employers to hire the right person for the job, whether they were born in New Salem or New Delhi. Existing law places arbitrary per-country caps on employment-based immigrant visas, leaving visas for high-skilled immigrants unused and creating massive backlogs. The EAGLE Act would gradually remove these caps and also raise the per-country limit on family-sponsored visas.
