What To Say When Raising The Head From Rukū‘ And Standing Upright

Meaning

Our Lord, praise is Yours, abundant, good and blessed praise

(A praise that) fills the heavens & the earth & what lies between them, & whatever else You please. (You Allāh) are most worthy of praise and majesty - the truest thing that the slave has said, we are all Your slaves. O Allah, there is none who can withhold what You give, & none may give what You have withheld, & the might of the mighty person cannot benefit him against You.

Transliteration

Rabbanā wa laka-l-ḥamdu ḥamdan kathīran ṭayyiban mubārakan fīh mil’as-samāwāti wa mil’a-l-arḍi wa mā baynahumā, wa mil’a mā shi’ta min shay’in ba‘d, Ahl ath-thanā’ī wa-l-majd, aḥaqqu mā qāla-l-‘abdu—wa kullunā laka ‘abd—Allāhumma lā māni‘a li-mā a‘ṭayt, wa lā mu‘ṭiya li-mā mana‘t, wa lā yanfa‘u dhā-ljaddi minka-l-jadd.

Know that it is mustaḥabb to combine all the adhkār mentioned, as we stated about the adhkār of rukū‘. If one wishes to shorten them, he should shorten them to:

رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَوَاتِ
وَمِلْءَ الأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَىْءٍ بَعْدُ

Meaning

Our Lord, praise is Yours
(A praise that) fills the heavens & the earth & what lies between them, & whatever else You please

Transliteration

Rabbanā laka-l-ḥamdu mil’a-ssamāwāti wa mil’a-l-arḍi wa mā baynahumā, wa mil’a mā shi’ta min shay’in ba‘d.

Story of Ubayd bin Umayr and the beautiful woman | Shaykh Raslan
Al-Imaam Al-‘Ijlee ( رحمه الله) said:

There was once a beautiful married woman who resided in Makkah. So one day she looked at her face in the mirror and said to her husband: ‘Do you see that there is anyone who would look at this face and not be put to trial due to it?’

So he replied: ‘Yes.’

So she said: ‘Who?’

He said: ‘‘Ubaid bin ‘Umayr.’

So she said: ‘So give me permission then to approach him – such that I may put him to trial.’

So he said: ‘I grant you permission!’

So she came to him in the guise of a woman seeking a fatwa.

So he went with her to a corner in the Masjid Al-Haraam.

So she disclosed (unveiled) a part of herself like that of a half a moon.

So he said to her: ‘O Amatullaah!’

So she said: ‘Indeed I have been put to trial because of you; so look into my affair.’

So he replied: ‘Indeed I am going to ask you something; so if you are truthful in it – then I shall look into your affair.’

She said: ‘You will not ask me anything except that I shall be truthful to you.’

So he said: ‘Tell me; if the Angel of Death came to you in order to take your soul. Would it then
please you that I had fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘If when you are entered into your grave; and you are sat up for questioning. Would it then please you that I had indeed fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘When the people are given their books; and you do not yet know whether you are to be given your book in your right hand or in your left. Would it then please you that I had
fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘When you would want to cross The Bridge (in the Hereafter); and you do not know whether you will advance (upon it) or that you will not advance. Would it then please you that I had fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘If then when The Scales are bought forth; and you likewise are bought forth – and you do not know whether they are going to be light or heavy. Would it then please you that I had fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘If when you are standing before Allaah for questioning. Would it then please you that I had fulfilled for you this request?’

She said: ‘By Allaah; no.’

So he said: ‘You have spoken the truth.’

He then said: ‘Fear Allaah O Amatullaah, for indeed Allaah has endowed blessing upon you – and has shown you excellence.’

Then the woman returned to her husband, so he asked her: ‘What did you do?’

She said: ‘You are idle (inactive) – and we are idle, so I have instead turned to praying and fasting and worshipping.’

Thereafter her husband would say: ‘What’s with me and ‘Ubaid bin ‘Umayr – he’s corrupted my wife. Every night she used to be like a newlywed; but now he’s turned her into a Nun.’

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹-𝗤𝗮𝗱𝗿 (𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗢𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲)

Shaykh Ibn Taymiyah

Laylatul-Qadr is in the Last Ten (nights) of the month of Ramaḍān. This is what is Authentic from the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ , that he said:
It is Within the Last Ten of Ramaḍān, and it is Within the
Odd Night's from them

However the Odd Night's may be Counted with Reference to what has Already passed by, Such that it should be Sought on the Night of the Twenty First, the Night of the Twenty Third, the night of the Twenty Fifth, the night of the Twenty Seventh, and the night of the Twenty Ninth; and they may Otherwise be Counted with Reference to what Remains, Just as the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ Said: On the Night when Nine Remain, on the Night When Seven Remain, on the Night when Five Remain, on the Night When Three Remain.

So Based Upon this, If the Month is of Thirty day's, then that will be One of the Even Night's. So the Twenty Second will be (the night) When Nine Remain, the Twenty Fourth will be When Seven Remain; and this is How Abu Saeed Al-Khudree explained IT in the authentic hadeeth; and this is how the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ established it in the month. If, however, the month is of twenty nine days, then counting in accordance with what remains will then be just the same as counting in accordance with what has passed.

So, this being the case, it is befitting that the Believer seeks it out in all of the last ten, just as the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ said: Seek it out in the last ten.And it occurs more frequently in the last seven; and it occurs most frequently on the twenty seventh, just as Ubayy ibn Kab;
Used to Swear an oath that it was the Twenty Seventh night.

So it was Said to him: “How have you come to know that?” So he replied: “On Account of the sign which ALLĀH ﷻ Prophet Mohammad ﷺ informed Us of. He informed us that the Sun Rises on the Morning Following it Being like a Brass Dish, Having No Rays.”

So this sign which Ubayy ibn Ka`b reported from the Prophet Mohammad ﷺ is from the Most well known Signs occurring in Hadith; and it is Related Regarding its Signs that it is a Night that is Bright, Shining; and it is Calm; it is not Very hot, Nor Very Cold. It may Occur that ALLĀH ﷻ Reveals it to Some of the People in a Dream, or Whilst Awake, such that He Sees its Light, or He Sees one who says to him: ❝This is Laylatul-Qadr❞; or He May Open his Heart to Witnessing such Thing's that Make the Affair Clear to him, and ALLĀH ﷻ Knows Best.”

The duʿāʾ that changed his life — Shaykh ‘Abdur-razzāq al-Badr
The Reward For Patience Upon Verbal Abuse

The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:

“And I set this as a condition with my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, that any Muslim worshipper who is REVILED or INSULTED then it becomes CHARITY and REWARD for him.”

Umm Darda' reported on the authority of Abu Darda' as saying: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

The invoker of curse would neither be witness nor intercessor on the Day of Resurrection.

Sahih Muslim 2598c

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

It does not seem proper for a Siddiq that he should be an invoker of curse.

Sahih Muslim 2597a
Du’aa made by Abu Bakr when being praised (or insulted):

اللهمَ اجْعَلْنِى خَيْرًا مِمَّا يَظُنُّونَ
O’ Allaah, make me better than what they think of me.

And forgive me for what they do not know about me.

And do not take me to account for what they say about me.

[Ibn Hajar’s al-Isaaba (vol 2, p. 335)]
Shaytan sits with those who curse each other

Abu Huraira  (رضي الله عنه) reported: A man insulted Abu Bakr  (رضي الله عنه)while the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting down. The Prophet was initially impressed by Abu Bakr and he smiled, but then Abu Bakr insulted the man with some of the same words as him. The Prophet became angry and he stood to leave. Abu Bakr went to the Prophet, and he said, “O Messenger of Allah, the man insulted me, and you were sitting, but when I responded in kind, you became angry and stood up.” The Prophet said, “Verily, there was an angel with you responding on your behalf, but Shaytan appeared when you responded with some of the same words as him. I will not sit in the presence of Shaytan.”
