🇷🇺🇫🇷 Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of France Emmanuel Macron

🔹The two leaders had a detailed discussion on the state of events in the Middle East in light of the conflict between Iran and Israel, as well as the US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities.

🔹Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron emphasised that Russia and France, as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, bore particular responsibility for upholding peace and security, in the Middle East or elsewhere, as well as for preserving the global non-proliferation regime. In this regard, it was noted that respecting Tehran's legitimate right to develop peaceful nuclear technology and continue fulfilling its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, which includes cooperating with the IAEA, was crucial.

🔹The two leaders spoke in favour of settling the crisis around Iran's nuclear programme and any other differences arising in the Middle East exclusively via political and diplomatic means. They agreed to maintain contact in order to coordinate their stances if necessary.

🔹When discussing the situation surrounding Ukraine, Vladimir Putin reiterated that the Ukraine conflict was a direct consequence of the policies pursued by the Western countries, which had for years been ignoring Russia's security interests, creating an anti-Russia staging ground in Ukraine, and condoning the violations of rights of Ukraine's Russian-speaking citizens, and at present were pursuing a policy of prolonging hostilities while supplying the Kiev regime with a variety of modern weaponry.

🔹Speaking about the prospects of a peaceful settlement, the President of Russia has confirmed Russia's stance on possible agreements: they are to be comprehensive and long-term, provide for the elimination of the root causes of the Ukraine crisis, and be based on the new territorial realities.

🔹Vladimir Putin's conversation with Emmanuel Macron was substantive.

Vladimir Putin held a videoconference meeting with Government members

Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit delivered a report on the development of Russia's core airport network which was the focus of the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, a number of current issues were discussed. First came social security for participants in the special military operation who became disabled but remained in military service, as well as the issue of providing higher and secondary education for widows of participants in the special military operation.

Vladimir Putin has expressed support for the proposal to expand the mandate of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation to include active service personnel of the military as well as security agencies who take part in the special military operation, possess the status of a combat veteran, and were registered as a disabled person.

In addition, the President has approved the suggestion to extend educational benefits to widows of participants in the special military operation (at the moment, only the participants in the special military operation themselves and their children are entitled to such benefits).

Vladimir Putin is taking part in the plenary session of the Strong Ideas for a New Time forum, held by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to promote new projects

Held annually since 2020 at the President's instruction, the forum aims to pick and implement promising ideas that will contribute significantly to Russia's development.

Entries for national initiatives were accepted in five categories, including social activities, entrepreneurship, personnel policy, technology, and environment. Over 35,000 ideas, initiatives, and projects were submitted in total.

When we meet yearly at this event, which is fairly concise in terms of its format, we only have time to discuss but a few projects in detail. But I would like to reiterate that the number of ideas in environment, education, technology, and entrepreneurship, not to mention creative industries, tourism, and improvement of our cities and When we meet yearly at this event, which is fairly concise in terms of its format, we only have time to discuss but a few projects in detail. But I would like to reiterate that the number of ideas for environment protection, education, technology, and entrepreneurship, not to mention creative industries, tourism, and improvement of our cities and communities, is of course much greater than what is discussed during these fora. I would like to stress that all these initiatives are brought forth and tested in practice or, as they say in the military, on the ground.

That being said, I would like to point out that each year, a thousand of the best ideas receive tangible support. The teams behind them and their leaders are provided with the educational and methodological support they need to keep growing. In addition, a hundred of the most significant initiatives are sent to the Government and various ministries and agencies, as well as Russia's regions, to be used in establishing systemic policies

The President spoke on supporting small research teams and businesses

It is via attracting talented and passionate people that we are going to make tremendous strides and, in fact, kickstart a new stage in our technological development. This stage must fully become a new time for Russia. In order to achieve the goals that we have set, and ensure a large-scale and thorough implementation of the most promising technologies, we must not only support large research centres and institutes individually. As I have already said, it is critical that we provide the necessary support to the small research teams that are only starting out, as well as student collectives, and family projects. At the exhibition that I have just toured, some young people told me about their family businesses and endeavours. We will, of course, support all that.
