A fortnight ago, joyful news came from the glorious Kazan - the Temple-Monument to the soldiers fallen during the capture of Kazan, dedicated to the Holy Mandylion, was finally restored. It was erected in the XIX century as an antique monument-pyramid over the ancient mound, where the soldiers were buried and where already Ivan IV ordered to establish a monastery in their commemoration. In the corners of the pyramid are hidden four cells, where formerly lived the monks, and under is a crypt with hundreds of warriors remains.

The temple barely survived the Soviet period - and had fallen into disrepair. Even after the USSR collapse, traitors and pagans desecrated the temple and prevented its restoration - but now justice has finally triumphed. But, for the final victory over the new attempts to steal Kazan, it would be nice to see the punishment of the people that so zealously opposed the house of God - especially since the Tatars loyal to the Tsar and Russia who took part in the siege are also buried here.
