An interesting portal of the RΔƒducanu monastery church in Romania, built in the XVII century, belongs to the number of Moldavian temples whose architecture started to experience Renaissance and Baroque influences. But, probably because it’s a monastic church, this one is rather conservative.

This conservatism resulted in an interesting doorway, which, while certainly influenced by newer tendencies, still sticks to Gothic origins. Some details, most notably the coat of arms above the entrance, may have been added later, but some Oriental influences, interestingly presented here as well, seem to be contemporary to the creation of the church.

The Church of Saint Anthony the New, the patron saint of Veria, in Greek Veria itself, is one of the most impressive churches in the city, not even inferior to the old Byzantine cathedral, it was built in a remarkable mixture of Christian architectural tradition developed during the Ottoman period, Neo-Greek and Neo-Byzantine styles.

Inside the temple, under a neo-Byzantine marble ciborium in a silver sarcophagus rests the relics of Saint Anthony himself.

Kaluga as a city is interesting with many empire and neoclassical mansions, often quite well preserved, and one of them is the Chistokletovs' house, now serving as a museum - an excellent surviving monument of the empire style.
