#Last_adventure of the Ethiopian year 2013 to #Derba_Waterfall will take place on #September 5, 2021 (ααα΄ 30)
Standing atop the #Derba escarpment, you can see rivers, streams and waterfalls down in the valley. But not all the waterfalls actually fall. Some are too high up not to attempt to fly - and so they do. Come, see the waters of Derba fly.

Among the rocks, gorges and steaming valleys of the Portuguese Bridge site - among the trees, shrubs and rivers of the Shoa highlands, we hiked, walking, clambering, jumping and climbing up and down footpaths. Dear Outdoor lovers, we are #fully_booked for Derba_Waterfall. And we would like to thank you for planning your weekend to hike # with us. Here are some tips for the #trip.
1. Be on time. Meeting time is 7:00 AM (1:00 LT) at Piassa (Taitu Hotel).
2. Bring your #ID card or passport.
3. #Hiking_Backpacks: pack extra food (like #snacks or #energy_drinks and #extra_cash for services not included in the package.
4. Eat light #breakfast (NB. the package doesn't include breakfast).
5.The lunch is #traditional agelgil, but if you prefer foreign dishes, please remember to #pack your #own lunch.
6. #Dress_in_layers: Sunday's weather forecast for the destination is mostly #cloudy, so you should dress accordingly. It is advisable to have a #rain_jacket, an #umbrella or a #hat.
7. Wear comfortable, #grippy_shoes.
8. Leave No Trace Behind: Donβt litter or throw any kind of trash away at the hiking site.
9. Donβt leave the official trail.
10. Take your own photos, and #mention @OutdoorEthiopia on your posts.
11. Hike at a comfortable pace and enjoy the outdoors. π£

Valleys are very strange places. They're home to rivers, of course, but also clouds swirling beneath you, eagles gliding at eye level, the mist rising up to cover waterfalls and streams and field after field of lush green farms. But valleys are also vast places that defy our perception of size and space. Sprawled beneath, they humble us. Rising all around, they tell us stories of long gone seas and ancient lakes. Valleys are very strange but immensely beautiful places indeed.

Waterfalls are nature's way of showing off. They're celebratory and awesome. The #Derba_waterfall is all these, but puts on an additional show - a dance it has choreographed with the wind and cliffs there - where a lot of the water tumbling down turns to mist before ever reaching the ground. Derba is a beautiful spectacle to witness and perched at the mouth of a glorious valley, it is one of the best hiking spots around.

It is Meskerem and the time our country is at its most beautiful. Flowers have bloomed, the rivers are getting clear and the rain is subsiding. Nature and the outdoors tell us it's the dawn of a new year full of hope. May we all seize it.
