Thinking of relocating from UK to Kerala

Hi everyone. A bit about myself: 35m mallu born and bred in UK, married with toddler. I have been self-employed for the last 10 years and have the luxury to take my work anywhere / wife a homemaker.

We have a family house in Kerala and we tend to go back for a month every year.

Im getting fed up of life in UK. Although we live in the nicer part of town - the country is just going down hill. Crime rate is fly high, theres no deterrent, healthcare is a shambles, inflation is fly high, youre paying more and more tax every year and youre getting less in return.

My question is: has anybody born and bred in UK relocated to Kerala? How did you find it?

My other question is - why are so many Keralans wanting to come to the UK - its an absolute disaster over here!!

Why are people dieing because of amoeba attack in kerala all of a sudden.

I spend most of my childhood swimming in ponds and water bodies. So did my ancestors too. Everyone lived a full life. But now a lot of people are dieing because of amoeba attacking the brain from water bodies.

Why is this happening now. Why didn't the older generation face an issue. Is this amoeba a recent thing? People are dieing inhaling amoeba even from chlorinated swimming pools or even by just bathing at home based on some news. Honestly scary.

Got saved from a matrimony scam in kerala. Boys and Girls Beware!

So im a 25(F) studying in the UK about to be done with my course. Naturally my parents started looking for alliances through matrimony. They asked me to go through things myself and have a look at all the profiles over there and proceed with someone that interests me and let them know if things work out.

Fast forward i found a profile that really striked me. He was the one who had sent an interest.He looked handsome, was settled in Dubai with his family(sister,brother in law, neice and mother) as an engineer and was also into dancing ( I was into dancing as well). Everything looked great, we connected on insta and started talking gradually proceeded into vc too. We had a great time talking and found we vibed well together. He ensured he called me atleast 15-20 times a day and always kept me in the loop. I felt really connected and super excited to take things ahead. Nothing seemed off as he even had some of his friends come up in the vc and talk to me, sometimes his neice( sister’s daughter- 7 years old would also pop in and talk). Everything went perfect, i was almost about to tell my parents about him.🫠🫠

Fast forward around 2 months later, he is going on a family vacation to kerala. He said he has some cousins wedding and even asked me for suggestions for what to wear and took me to the dressing room with him. I noticed he was choosing things really extravagant ( the sort the groom would wear for a reception or something,but never really bothered) . Mind you he always kept me in the loop of what was happening and used to talk frequently.

Fast forward one fine morning, i see a reel on instagram and oh my fucking lord i lost all of my senses…. THIS GUY FUCKING GOT MARRIED IN KERALA A WEEK AGO!!! 😱😶‍🌫️And still talked to me. I looked at my call logs and found that he somehow managed to talk to me through his wedding ( the previous day, on the day and after). He did things so beautifully no one would doubt it. I felt like a complete asshole helping him choose his costume for his own reception without me even knowing it. He had absolutely no posts or stories on insta relating to any of this. Later i got to know he had hid his stories and statuses from me.

I immediately found this brides profile on insta. Dint want to give her a shock so found her sisters and texted her the whole situation. I sent her all the screenshots and call logs and how things had unfolded. Her sister and family were really thankfull i reported and made sure i would be in no trouble. They confronted him immediately and although he initially denied , he accepted the drama he had created. The girl was quite strong and bold in dealing with things, although i expected her to have a breakdown ( her sister told me later).The girls family now literally filed for a divorce in 10 days and an case for fraudulent actions against them. Although i felt guilty breaking someones marriage like that i realized that is what had to be done and the girl deserves better. He could be doing these things on so many different levels and people so she needed to walk out of it asap. Im glad she was saved, was able to walk out of it in 10 days and was not worried about any stigma. Im glad i only lost some time and nothing more and someones prayers saved me too. So boys and girls please be extra cautious. Even matrimony platforms have scammers who are pros.😵‍💫😵‍💫
