In Kannur, Kerala, a major accident occurred when an ambulance, which was speeding with a patient on board, swerved to avoid a two-wheeled vehicle that suddenly cut across its path. Four people who were inside the ambulance were seriously injured in the crash.

Noticed a lot of Indians are coming back to India and proceeding to leave again but none of them are from south India

Just something I noticed and kind of giggled at. I know we as a state have our own problems but man it’s hilarious to see my North Indians friends in America complain about how shit their lives would be if they decided to retire in India again.

My entire life plan is to do that, I love Kerala so much I can’t imagine giving up my home for anything. Every time I face racism or discrimination I think about our state and how much I’m loved there not just by family but by the locals. I know they have it harder with excessive pollution and incredible levels of poverty, I also know I’m very privileged to have family that doesn’t financially depend on me 100% back home and I get to visit them and have fun.

I only criticise the double standard because these are the same ppl who threw us under the bus while I was an immigrant there. They mock our love for Onam and the fact we watch our movies in theatres and when we share work spaces with them. They also sit along side other white people and make cracks about India and about how dirty and smelly we are(real story btw), I’ve experienced more hate from North Indians during my time there than from white ppl and it’s funny to think these are the same ppl who can’t even survive or adjust back in India while most malayalis pray to retire there because of how blissful and beautiful our state is to us. Just a rant into the ether of the internet.

If you have figured out a way to work out of Kerala with a decent job and pay, stay.

This is coming from someone who has worked for \~4 years in Chennai and 2-3 years in Bangalore (was earning \~1.5-2x of what I earn now). But these cities - despite whatever the media tells you, discounts heavily on quality of life. Kerala has fresher air, cleaner water, better food and way better civic sense compared to the metros (In absolute terms, these might not be great, but compared to our metros, it is GOOOOOD).

Hold on to your assets in the state - unless you have a great opportunity to move to a country that values your existence.

If you are planning to be part of the rat race of a life that India provides, stay in Kerala.
