IELTS Writing Task 2 Insights
Biggest problems:
- not to anwer the question
- to answer partially
How to solve:
- read the question carefully to understand
- ignore time constraints for a few minutes to plan
Task achievement:
- how well you understood and answered the question
- you can have a contradicting view to an examiner's but it should be logical
- main idea with no support (not good)
Template vs structure
Intro
Body 1 - topic sentence ...
Body 2 - topic sentence ...
Conclusion
Memorizing templates/learnt sentences is the worst advice
C&C:
- referencing problems
- jumping from one idea to another
- overuse/underuse of discourse markers (and/which)
- using discourse markers (however, therefore, although) in the middle of sentences is better rather than at the beginning
Grammatical range and accuracy:
- use both simple and complex grammar structures (range)
- try not to make a lot of mistakes (accuracy)
Subordination - fitting more info in shorter sentences - relative clause, although, etc.
LR:
- precision
- range
- learning a list of vocab is terrible
- do not try to automatically squeeze
- learn collocations
- do not use synonyms that do not fit
- worried about not to copying the question and come up with incorrect synonyms
- word forms (good)
- write by hand if you are taking PB exam
Do what you enjoy in english before an exam day to unwind

In some countries, students have to learn two or more languages at school.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
It is becoming increasingly common for students to learn multiple languages in some nations. While some people argue that learning more than one language is not a good idea, I am of the opinion that it is, for the most part, advantageous.
On the one hand, there are some downsides to learning numerous languages at school. One obvious drawback is the confusion it causes. If one is learning languages that are in different root families, it is indeed difficult to cope with them at the same time. For instance, those who are learning English and Uzbek languages might face some problems in the language learning process because these two languages have several differences as they belong to different language families. Another serious disadvantage of acquiring more languages is that not using one language in conversations. This means that the more language you know, the fewer words you are able to use in one language because if you know many languages, you are highly likely to use alternative words from different languages. Therefore, in order to reach a perfect level in any language without confusion or without using mixed languages in daily conversations, students have to choose one language that they want to master.
On the other hand, despite these drawbacks, I believe the benefits to attaining more languages are more significant. Firstly, it offers a lot of job opportunities as many jobs are related to languages these days. If there are two applicants, one knows only one language, and the other one is a polyglot, for a position advertised from a company, it is obvious that the company choose the second one as they know more languages, which is considered a good factor for job prosperity. Secondly, if more than one language is being learnt, it is never boring for language learners. When students are tired of one language, they can easily change the language they are learning and freshen up their learning experiences. And also they can compare the languages they are currently learning and make the learning process fun and enjoyable.
In conclusion, while there are some problems associated with attaining numerous languages, I would contend that the benefits it brings like the opportunities in terms of job and interesting language learning process outweigh the negatives.
