My son got badly sun burnt last year at a family gathering. By that night he was heading towards heat stroke and severe internal and external heat. We had him in the bath with tepid water. when I was packing I reached into my medicine press and grabbed a jar of self heal tincture. I was compelled to bring it for some reason.
So as the night drew on and the rest of the party, who were all drunk, we’re trying to give him all sorts of remedies and pain killers and generally annoying and scaring him a little. I remembered the jar of self heal and I proceeded to dab his legs for about 30 minutes. From top to bottom and back up against.
Most of them thought he needed hospital. They all said he’d be unable to walk for a few days and also that his skin would peel so badly..
I jest you not. By morning the heat was gone from his legs. Still a little red but the actually heat to touch was almost gone. By the day after he could wear jeans again and he did not lose one inch of skin to peeling.
