πΉ In news : India, represented by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), has been included in the Steering Committee of the ARIN-AP.
πΉ Structure: ARIN-AP consists of national contact points designated by each member country in the Asia-Pacific region. These contact points are interconnected through the Secretariat, which is located at the South Korean Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
πΉ Membership:
- Members: Currently, there are 28 member jurisdictions, including India.
- Purpose: Facilitates cooperation and asset recovery across borders to combat transnational crime, money laundering, and corruption.
πΉ Functions:
1. Information Sharing: Provides a network for real-time communication among members.
3. Capacity Building: Conducts workshops and seminars to enhance regional expertise in asset recovery.
