Our public houses are so heavily entwined into the very fabric of Britain's identity that there can not be one without the other.

Trade unions have always been politically motivated con-artist middlemen who were set up by nefarious forces to manipulate a suffering public into believing they've somehow won the very scraps that a real government would ensure all by itself.

Quite often, a single image is all it takes to confidently conclude just how little modernity has to offer.

Today's posts have come from the 'Great Chamber'. Shortly, I shall embark upon the smoking lounge wherein I shall indulge upon fine Scotch, intelligent company, and a few of the many fine fruits of the earth.

Due to there being nothing open where I am at the moment I walk into McDonald's on this fine Sunday morning to be met by the relaxing scene of a man with a Pimms jug that's half full of beer arguing with the staff. I'm so used to this stuff I have to remind myself that things could be better. If I wrote what I see from hour to hour, it would be like Samuel Pepys recording the great fire of London.

I find it depressingly noticeable how much better each walk of life presented and carried themselves in 60s London compared to today.

A sea of presentable class on King William Street in the City of London in 1939 (The year WWII was declared). People can try to argue that the world wars and the modernity that followed them was for the best. But the evidence clearly shows otherwise.

Any real country is entitled to indepdence. But, what most of the liberals who wanted Scottish indepdence hypocritically claim is that they want to rejoin the EU. So it's not liberal internationalism or the rule of foreign states that bothers them, but the idea of the Anglo-Celtic Isles being united.

We are still living in awe of the very ancestors we claim to have been backwards.

Today is but a nightmare to those who lived the dream.

The beautiful building on the left was the Central Telegraph Office in London, photographed in 1935. This building, which opened in 1874, was closed in 1962 and, in an act of architectural terrorism, was demolished in 1967. Can you imagine how spectacular London would be if the whole place looked like the image on the left instead of the sci-fi film sets replacing it? I'd love to have been at the meeting to see who suggested and agreed upon this building, or many others like it being demolished. #RIP

I think it's only fitting that I procure myself a silk smoking suit identical to this fine example from 1880s England.
