🎓On June 16, the 29 finalists of the Fall 2025 Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP) cohort gathered in Tashkent for a comprehensive Pre-Departure Orientation. These distinguished scholars from across Uzbekistan are preparing to spend four months in the United States, participating in academic and professional development activities at U.S. universities.
The orientation featured sessions on program expectations, cultural adjustment, and the U.S. academic environment. Representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent welcomed the finalists and shared valuable insights and words of encouragement for their journey ahead.
The Faculty Enrichment Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and supports the professional growth of higher education faculty by fostering international academic exchange and collaboration.
We wish all FEP finalists continued success as they begin this exciting chapter of academic and professional growth!

✨ This week, we’re featuring Nodira Vakhidova, founder of Business Woman Club, a growing ecosystem that supports women entrepreneurs across Uzbekistan. Through structured in-person programs, mentoring, and curated networking opportunities, the Club helps participants grow their ventures and reconnect with their sense of purpose.
Her journey began with a simple mission: to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered — not just professionally, but personally. On June 5, the Regional Alumni Representative in Jizzakh hosted a practical workshop titled “Email Communication with Universities Abroad” at Yoshlar Saroyi. The event brought together USG alumni, students from Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, Access Program participants, and students from the Jizzakh Specialized School — all eager to strengthen their academic communication skills.
💡 The session started off with Fulbright alumnus Furqat Sharipov, who shared practical tips on writing clear, professional academic emails. Using real examples, he highlighted the importance of tone, structure, and clarity when reaching out to universities and faculty.
📝 Dildora Bakhriddinova, RAR in Jizzakh followed with a hands-on session on email etiquette—guiding participants through respectful openings, avoiding informal language, and making a strong impression in academic writing.
🎯 To wrap up, OPEN alumni Gulnoza Ganiyeva, Makhliyo Umarkulova, and Mohira Kholmatova led interactive group tasks and simulations that built confidence and helped reinforce key takeaways in a collaborative setting.

On June 16–17, Judges Farrukh Turakhodjaev and Sukhrob Yuldashev represented Uzbekistan at the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL) Regional Judicial Alumni Conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, organized by the U.S. Embassy. Focusing on the theme "Judicial Independence and Court Digitalization," the event gathered Open World Program Rule of Law alumni from across Eurasia and the Indo-Pacific to discuss global trends and challenges in modern justice systems.

He also co-founded IUTLab, giving university students hands-on tech experience, and leads the Google Developers Group Tashkent — now the city’s largest IT community.
