Choose how you cope

Above mentioned things cause harm and are hindrance in our coping. It may appear as if these things are helping. They surely give short term pleasure but as per the research, they end up consuming a lot of our time afterwards.

Prioritise your preparation

You have been prioritising your UPSC preparation from other tasks and commitments.
But, in that preparation as well, there are still some things which can be cut short and you need not be sorry!

1. Being busy and owning your time : You might not be available for your roommates, group discussions just like before and it is okay.

2. Setting boundaries for yourself: You might have to say NO to helping others for the study material, NO to discussion calls and so on....This is completely fine at this juncture of your preparation.

3. Not being perfect always: Not all days are going to be just the same. Not all days you might be able to follow THE exact schedule of studies.

4. Crying for showing emotions : On a call with friends at home, with family you may burst. And it's ok. Do not be sorry for having these emotions about the exam.

Wellness diet

Because ultimately, all these sources will contribute in forming your belief system. Your daily thoughts.

During exam time, specifically, be mindful of what all you are consuming.

1. Limit watching toppers' videos. Select one or two if they motivate you but do not go for listening new ones. These videos might disturb your strategy of studying.

2. Limit your consumption of overall web series/YouTube videos. If you are mindfully watching some content, it is okay. Otherwise screen time is going to affect your concentration.

3. Be mindful of whome you are spending time.

Limit your screen time

You can limit your screen time by asking these questions to yourself. When you reach the time limit of your scrolling time, ask these. Additionally you can ask:

1. Is this content helpful for my UPSC prelims?
2. Is it really helping me to calm down?
3. Can I afford to spend this much time watching this, right now?
